Wife with mod troubles:
I am a wife with the same trouble with the husband. he is a die hard chevy man...what can I say, opposites attract! he about died of embarrasment when I drove my 97 f150 home, would NOT ride in it. he winced when I bought the running boards and hard tonneau. but I did talk him into taking a ride with me,I am sure I saw him smile when I tromped the gas pedal.he frowned when I bought the f-1 cobra hood, when I ordered the superchip he says'that is the last thing you are adding, isnt it? I said 'sure baby'....
my air force 1 fipk and lighted logo's are on their way as we speak...
I have notice now that every time I need him to run to the store he jumps in my truck instead of his "CLASSIC" 57 chevy p.u.
now he comes in and says 'I hate to admit it but I sure do like that truck!!!!
I think I am going to have to take his key away.

Heres my two cents. My "significant other" says that femseadoo is right. Except she doesnt like mods on her car but she says to take the woman to a show and show her what you like and maybe she will like it too. Some things she just doesnt like on your model truck. Here is a true story involving myself and my "old lady". I had just bought the truck and convinced her that the tires on it were too "sissyish" and she actually agreed so without taking another breath, off I went to get the BFG A/Ts. But the next week when I told her that I needed a better exhaust she said I was crazy. So, i used a little piece of information I believe i found right here on this cite. I told her, look, there is a recall on this truck for the exhaust. It says that the exhaust coming out in front of the wheel is destroying teh right rear tires on these trucks. The dealer was moving the exhaust to the back of the tire for free but that doesnt need to be told. So, I told her, I jsut spent damn near 1000 bucks for the tires, you dont want me to ruin them and have to get new ones prematuraly do you? So, its either keep replacing tires at 1000 bucks a shot or get the new exhaust for way less than that. What do you think she said? I will leave that one open. So anyway, the way to do it is to convince her that something else will go wrong with the truck if you dont get the new mod. Some things will take more imagination than others but you get the point. Good luck. PS-you didnt hear it from me:-}

include her in the process, she is happy as can be. She wants me to restore her 82 RX-7 when we finally get off the road,so maybe I can get her hooked then.........maybe ,,,98

Hey Guys,

This is a great thread so I will drop my 2 coins in to help with the record.

Dealing with my girl (5'7" for the record) for the past 4 years has been easy. The past 3 months has been very interesting. I had driven one piece of crap or another for the first 4 years that we have been together. 3 months ago I got my baby and beautiful 2001 F-150. Whenever I talk about mods I don't get the "what do you need that for" response, instead I get the "If that is what you want to do dear" response, much the same if you wanted to goto the "girlie" bar on Saturday with the guys. You can do it but will you sure pay for it....

For those who don't understand women (arm is raised) I know this much...It is much like a chess game, move...countermove. I just know that the little bit of info that I have given about wanting that mod is being stored a little area of the mind that, if need be, 25 years from now will spew out at me and I will be caught in check. Hopefully If I am good enough at the game it will not be checkmate.

I like many here, It will cost $500 for that $250 MOD. 250 for the mod, 50 for the flowers and 200 for the symphony tickets.

All in all life is good.

Keep the stories coming!!

Maybe I missed something here...I've never had to "defend" anything I bought, for her, me, or us. She knew going in, when she took that walk and said "yes", how I was. Hell, sometimes (twice, actually) I bought the vehicle without her ever seeing it 'til I drove it home--and one of those times, she didn't even know I was looking (!)--I just couldn't pass on the price. One thing's for damn sure, she's one hell of a wife. I lucked out bigtime. Am I braggin' on her? you betcher ***!

Message to Lariat4wd...or whatever.....

If you want clean, then stay out of the mud........ I seem to remember that you are a member, not an admin. This is a public forum and you started the topic but you do not have any right to choose replies or to judge them. We all share responsibility of our posts and I certainly believe mine was no different than anyone elses....just more accurate than some about the way we do things. I do not post anywhere in any forum in a manner that should get me flamed and I was unpleasently surprised by your rule of "keep it clean".

C'mon..keep 'em comin'.
This topic rocks!!!

New defense...Viper alarm...no defense needed (unfortunately, my wife's car was broken into 2 weeks ago) so she said I could get an alarm on my truck...as long as she gets one on her new car in a few months. Not a problem.
Installing stereo system I bought 3 months ago finally.

Will add pics as install progresses.
