I remember those days like they were yesterday, oh wait they were. Lol I'm only 18 but since I work and pay for it my parents stopped given a crap. It's a lot easier convincing a gf bro just wait it out. Lol idk what it's like on the wife part, but from what I've read on here, the gf seems to be a happy median. Lol

im 21, dont live with my parents any more, yet my dad still gives me crap when i buy something new for my truck. He always gives the same old reasons why buying my tires, wheels, programmer, exhaust, or HID's was a bad idea and lists reasons of how it he thinks its going to break my truck or void my warranty.

As for my girlfriend, who i live with and have been dating for almost 6 years, i only tell here about the mods for my truck after i receive them or after they are on the truck. At least she cant say that i better not buy something new.

I went about mods in a way that didn't require convincing the GF of anything...just bought a truck that need a lot of little things...to be, uh, safe. Yeah.

Bench seat's torn---threw in 60/40 seats
Exhaust is missing---nice 3" with tip
Stereo sucks, speakers blown--new system
Nasty dim factory headlights--L heads
And so on...

....come to think of it, body mounts look worn out...if only Performance Accessories made an upgrade (hehe)... Tires too. Wheels are, uh, bent....yeah. Suspension's a little creaky...maybe Fabtech can help me out with this predicament...

Oh yah, forgot the height requirement---she's 5'9" so I shouldn't get too much crap when I lift the truck

I just say it looks good and she usually agree's with me. Whatever I do mostly to the truck or now the house, she has a say in it. Except, she didn't like the idea of lowering the truck.

The LED upgrade didn't go well at first until I actually put them side by side and said look they are brighter and light up faster, so it's safer! She understands my wants but I have to justify a reason before permission is granted. Lol

cant say i got that prob. For V-day she gave me a gift card for a truck accessory shop. ordered all the parts for the exhaust. i was away at work i just gave her the part numbers and she took care of the rest. now she cant wait for the line x(that gets done on tuesday).
now she's helping pick out rims for when we get the 6" lift.
