Post

I remember when I first had my new truck (7-00) my neighbor across the street yelled to my wife "when is he going to let you drive that big shiny new truck". Well, she never did want to drive it. I mentioned a few times that she needed to get used to it now so when we go for trips she can drive. Well, here it is 6 months later and I had to take her truck(4WD) to the mountains overnight during a snow storm to help out my folks. So the next day she would be needing to take my truck to work. She said she would take my truck and park out side when she got home and not pull into the garage (barely fits). Well I get home around noon and she comes in around 2 crying. I didn't even care about seeing the truck until she settled down. After she did though we went out and looked. She had stopped at the 7-11 and while pulling out did not see one of those waist high parking lot post things filled with concrete. Drug it down the passenger back door and almost to the rear feader well. I had been thinking about a ram air hood anyway so I figured if I am going to repaint I just as well "blend" in a hood too. So I ordered it to be installed with the repair. BTW they are replacing both damaged skins. I love my wife and she has helped me through some times that could and did make a grown man cry.

She never questions my mods or any other of my hobbies....We don't have children though and I know that makes a difference.

But she won't be driving my F-150 for a while.

Also, I wish it wasn't so cold so my neighbor could ask "who wrecked that big shiny new truck"

That's classic. Well I'm not married but i do have a girlfriend (for the record 5'2" and Italian and I'm 5'9") shes gives me crap all the time about my truck for it being a ford (also for the record she drives a stang and a dodge dakota) and the mods i want to do to it. Well i have came up with a 2 step process to counter react this #1. Q=don't you drive a ford too? A=yea buts its a stang #2. Q=isn't Gilmore girls or something on? A= usually a shut the hell up look and then her stomping off while I'm working under the truck.

crap me too (searching for body stuff)

...and what if it's the wife who has to splain to the hubby WHY the mods are needed?...haha I don't even bother usually, I earn as much as he does and I do what I want with mine and his...but he SO owes me. He used a pressure washer he bought for the house on my truck 3 weeks ago...screwed up the pinstriping (that I've since removed myself and buffed so you can't even tell it was ever there!) but as far as I'm telling him, he owes me/my beloved truck "a lil' sumpin'" for what he did...works for me!

might as well keep it going.. haha

my gf is always pretty cool about my mods. i usually just get the eyes rolled at me and the "you care more about that truck than you do about me" but in the end she likes what i do to it. she was highly against the xlt console in my reg cab because she cant sit beside me now but she'll get over it. lol she can't complain too much, she gets taken care of just as good. plus her new g6 is starting to look pretty good as well, which she never complains about when im working on it! haha the only thing she doesnt like about her car is the tint i had put on it which is 5% all around over the 30% that was already there and the 50% on her windshield..

Here's my take on things. My money is my money and her money is her money AS long as we take what we are suppose to take care around the house and we don't have anything planned that involves money. If my lady wanted to buy shoes every week than that would be her thing as long as she takes care of her portion of the bills

My wife couldn't stand the stock exhaust "it's too quiet" & after I did mine she wanted me to do the same w/her Tahoe. She never says anything whenever I'm about to do something to the truck, it's up to me to control myself.

Of course, she has her things to spend money on too....

Considering I'm only 17, I have to try to explain all the things I do to my truck to my parents. And with my dad being an ex-Ford mechanic he always thinks that everyone on here is wrong lol, so thats who I have to get to give in.
