problem with system.
that drawing was correct for a dvc 4 ohm sub you cannot wire it like that for a dvc 2ohm. that speaker will work but you will only get 300 wrms out of your amp. and you will have to wire it in series amp positive to speaker coil # 1 positive coil # 1 negative to coil #2 positive coil #2 negative to amp negative. wire it like this so it will be a 4 ohm load on your amp if you wire it like the drawing you showed above it will put a 1 ohm load on the amp and your amp will shut down.

haha i know you did! and i actually learned alot!! thanks for that link..
anyways, so it will look like this?

i drew this up very quickly, i am a visual person... just makin sure im understanding this "NEW" languange
basically what your saying is tht in the long run, i will need a 4 ohm load coming from the sub... while connecting the DVC together...

all you need is a bolt that you can put the connecter under and tighten it down just make sure it has good clean bare metal no paint if you want you can check the resistance with your meter to make sure its good run a wire up to your negative bat terminal and probe with the other meter wire till you find a spot that has low resisitance close to 0 ohms with your meter set at 200 ohms.
This happened with my system as well. Do your subs move out and in when it does the strange "bump" noise? If so, your amp is shot- I blew a M.A. Audio 1200watt amp and it was doing the same thing.
he has a 4 ohm dvc 10" sub and the sub shows 1.5 ohm on one of the coils i think its safe to say its his sub he had 2 different amps and they both did the same going into protect with the sub connected and did what there were supposed to when the sub was disconnected.

well, my system is finally fixed.. and it sounds great! thanks to everyone who put all of their time and effort into helping me sort all of this stuff out...
i have one more question... is it bad to turn up the gain, bass boost and stuff on the amp?
