XenonLink HIDs 5th and final review

I too am reviewing the HID kit from Xenon link.
Dont worry guys, im the 5th and final one no more threads

I called william wed the 21 and placed the order.
William seemed very knowlegeable and was quick to make sure any questions i had were answered before he even asked about payment. After the order, he made sure i had his info incase i needed to contact him. I wouldnt call him a salesman as he not once made me feel like he was pushing a product at me.

HIDs came in today. I was actually on my way to the shop and forgot my phone so i made a block to find the mailman with my box there.
Since it was in i decided to go ahead and do my install.

Ill do a search and if i cant get a good well writen write-up of the install ill do a full write-up with pics and more HID info for the benefit of the members but for now this is just a review thread with some pics.

Ok initial review........5-5
Called him and he was very curteous. Definantly not pushy to sell his product, and accomodating to customer (my) needs. Knowledgeable about his product, I already knew i wanted 6000k but i told him what i wanted out of the light and he answered me with what i already knew. 6000k it was.

Shipping...............5-5
Its free, what more can i say? I gotta admit i didnt really expect them here that fast. And did i forget FREE, theres definitely no shipping scam going on here.

Packaging.............5-5
This stuff was well packed, maybe even excessively. Got here safely and thats what counts.

Initial product thoughts....5-5
Neat packaging, everything seemed fine, ballasts looked to be solid and of quality and bulbs were all nicely sealed still. Key word here is price guys, for the price this looks to equal or exceed the value of what you pay. Imagine wanting a ferrari, but buying a vette. Still fun, usefull, youll get looks and overall great but a whole lot cheaper and well worth the money.

Instructions...........4.5/5
Instructions are super easy to follow, they include a small universal diagram but the online instructions are very easy. Connect the dots (in this case numbers) and your good to go. The only reason they lost half a point is because instead of printing the general directions, they could print and include the directions for the bi-xenon and realy with it instead of the general ones. Its only one sheet. Well that and i didnt look at the directions before hand since i was out the door when the kit came, and its very hard to look at the directions on a 2" screen thru my mobiles browser at the shop to diagnose for problems lol.

Wiring Install.............5/5
Everything is prewired all you do is plug and play. You just wire your batt connection and negative and run the wires. I do a whole lot of wiring and this honestly took me all of 10 min to wire.

Hardware install.........5/5 everything fits nicely into place, the bulbs come with thier own rubber seals and pop into place with a bit of force as any good bulb would. Ballast have plenty of wiring space for ease of install and the holders to a great job of holding if placed vertically. There is a small tork bolt in the area right under the lights that is the perfect mounting position.

overall initial quality.........4/5
As said, everything looks solid, wiring is all loomed nicely and well connected. Connections are all weatherproofed and power wire comes with fuse and fuse holder and its all wrapped. Would have been a 5 but i deducted one point for one motor not wanting to perform well out of the box. After a bit it did start to move ever so slightly. Ill run them all weekend and see if it improves. Either way ill be contacting William on monday and see what he says.

Overall experience.........5/5
Overall this is a great kit for what you pay. The light output is crisp and clean, and even in our reflector based lights, the beam is pretty focused where it should be. The color is dead on, i love the crisp and cleanliness of the 6000k Even though there was a slight problem with getting them operating at first, a quick review of the instructions and everything was fine. This could have been avoided had i actually took a quick look at the diagram beforehand
Even with the minor setback, the lights were off and back on in an hour. The guys in the shop were also impressed with the look and install and they have done a few. The owner of the shop said that it was pretty nice for the guys to include the relay, he has installed many a kit that does the simple plug to the headlight connector with no external relay to power the ballast. Many have come back too.

Customer Service.........????
Yet to be determined.

Just a few notes for you 04+ guys.
The hi/low connectors come with a small extension, pull that off as its not needed and tends to not let the signal thru for the motor to switch to lo/hi.
I had some backfeed problems at first, the los were high and the highs didnt do anything, bulb was off. Upon looking for troubleshooting diagnosis, (the small phone screen browser part) it was determined that the diodes needed to be flipped. I flipped them and everything went smoothly.

Also, when i do my fogs, i plan on taking out the headlights and drilling a 2 hole with a hole saw on the front core support. The bulb is long enough to touch slightly back there when the headlight is fully in place and its too close for comfort. Tired pounding the area in a bit with a ball peen but the material is too thick there to move with my limited swing due to the wires and headlight being in the way at the time.

Ill get some pics uploaded in the gallery and post them up shortly.

Few pics here, ill get nighttime pics up tomorrow.

These are all taken by my cell, My camera was stolen back in august and i have yet to replace it. The pics were all taken facing the sun to so they are kinda oversaturated.

Heres where i mounted the ballast holders

Further out shot so you can see where its positioned

Holder in place. Just add the double sided pad on the back side of the ballast and drop her in. Stays tight and doesnt rattle.

test shot to make sure everything was functioning

Lo beams

plates say it

Close up so you can see the color difference.

Side shot

Full frontal all done and closed up lo beams on

hey foo technically i posted up that i wanted them first, and you were second so ha!
Yea im actually quite happy with the 6000ks, i was afraid they were going to be too blue for my tastes. They do light up quite nice and white. The cool part is while they are heating up they do look blue till they are fully warmed.

Your going to notice a little more blue in the 6000k. Your 4300 are a full white with nearly any color. I do believe your gonna notice the difference, but it will be slight and you may be the only one that notices it.

I should have never did the hids... Will is supplying the fogs, but now ill have to swap the offroad lights for HID lights, and put in some hyper white LEDs in my markers.
Those incandesent bulbs sure do look horrible next to the xenons.

ok as promised, i would fully review my experience.
it has been 8 months now and here are my thoughts. Take them as you will.

first off, my problems.
Seems like i had quite a bit of trouble with the bi-xenon area of this. The moving bulb seems to have a bit of bugs still to work out. i had two replaced and depending on the weather (read humidity) it will do what it wants.
Sometimes if its rainy out and im going 75-80 it tends to like jumping to HI beams on its own. I can pull back on the lever for "flash to pass" and after 30sec to 1.25 min it will kick back down but it starts a "jump to high beam" habit that wont stop till the humidity drops. Now it has gotten to where one (pass side) bulb doesnt want to kick to hi. If i hold it it will eventually pop up. but it lacks response on demand.

Second my fog bulb went out. i posted and william contacted me about it but i have been lazy and never pulled it to send it back (yet)

Aside from those probs, the kit overall has held up well.
The lights still work as great as the day i got them, they light right up and with the exception of the hi low prob they are great. The fogs have been just as great, just gotta get the bulb replaced.

My overview...
If you want these...
Get the regular lo kit by itself or the low xenon with the high halogens.
the bixenon kit still has too many probs IMO to be used regularly in a daily especially for the person getting these installed. I am very hands on and quite knowledgeable with electronics and these were still a painITA to diagnose when they failed.

As far as customer service, when Will was available it was no prob.
You described the prob, he went thru a few steps to solve it, and if there was no solution ON YOUR END he gave you a Return number for whatever part was found to be faulty.
Very fast shipping back to you once he got your return and i was never dissatisfied.
I will now be contacting the new rep and we shall see how it goes (will be posted here as well)
