From what I know, yes. My service guy said not to worry about it. They know all about it, and I was looking at the warranty on his computer. Pretty nifty stuff.

We even looked up Bluejay's truck to see if his is covered under the injector extended warranty, since he never received a letter. His is covered. We go to the same dealership. The service guy lives a few blocks away from me.

If I were to have my injectors replaced for preventive maintenance about how much would that run? Approximately.

Good to hear your covered. I unfortunately am not. Already have 132,000 miles on my ride.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Stealth. I'd read a few times about problematic injectors, but guess I didn't realize how big of an issue it was. I've only got barely 40k on my 05, but it definitely makes me worried.

Just for the hell of it though, I called a dealer here in Austin and they confirmed I am covered for that thankfully. But after reading FX4Life's problems, I am just praying they don't know a tuner has been on there or just don't care, one or the other.

I'm gonna be real picky with mine this weekend... I hope it was just a hiccup... I should go dig out my injector letter, just in case... lol

x2 -- anyone know.....???

If the cost isn't outrageous, I'd seriously consider just going ahead and replacing the damn things -- especially since I know I will be keeping my truck long after the extended injector warranty expires. For me I will likely never reach the 120k mileage limit, so my coverage should top out at 11 years in June of 2016.

ALL 05's FOR THESE PLANT HAVE THE EXTENDED COVERAGE
VEHICLES COVERED BY THIS PROGRAM
Vehicle Line Model Years Assembly Plant Production Dates
F-150 2005 Dearborn Assembly Plant
F-150 2005 Norfolk Assembly Plant
F-150 2005 Kansas City Assembly Plant
Expedition 2005 Michigan Truck Plant
Navigator 2005 Michigan Truck Plant
F-Super Duty 2005 Kentucky Truck Plant

The injctors are only on 5.4 not on the 4.6.

In some of the affected vehicles with 5.4L 3V engines, the fuel injectors may stick open or closed.
This concern could cause the check engine light to illuminate along with a hard starting and/or rough
running engine condition. In some instances, continued engine operation with a stuck open/closed
fuel injector could result in powertrain damage.

Sorry dude your going to need a motor, but its all good you will get a new short block out of it.

Quick update, motor's seized completely. Tried to start it, seized up. Got it in the bay. After a while they tried to hand crank it both directions, no dice. Must be bent up pretty badly. I'll be getting a new short block at 72,000 miles. :o

#7 injector was stuck open.

Hmmm -- sounds like the perfect opportunity to do something really cool with the engine. A supercharger immediately comes to mind........

Man, I'm going to suffer driving my wife's crappy Impala for a week or so. :o

Yes, I'd like to be able to put a supercharger on it, that would be nice.

I'd like to have a long block. A short block won't be good since valves may be damaged, and a visual inspection may miss problems. Plus I'll still have crapola 2005 injectors on there. I may have to discuss how much replacing all the remaining injectors costs.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong concerning short block vs. long block. I'm not an engine gearhead. I don't really know what all would get replaced.
