I'm lifting mine, or starting the parts gathering, in two weeks. I can get my Fabtech for $1500 shipped right now and I may need to find a shop that'll install what I bring if the ones I get quotes from cant get that lift that cheaply. Was gonna install it myself, but it's only about $300 more to have a shop do it after lost work time, paying my friend, and alignment. So I'd love a shop that'll do just install.

I switched to my 93 Performance/Tow tune last night and drove with it to work this morning...man o' man

If this thing doesn't drive better with 34.5" tires than stock, then it is right on par with it. With the 87 perf/tow, I was having to kick it in the butt every once in a while to get up inclines. Sometimes it would even drop to fourth to stay up to speed. Not now. Smooth as butter. I get a lot better response from stomping on it now too. I know I have reached a point of no return...93 octane for life I suppose.

I'm considering getting the Autospring 3" rear block to jack the back end up some. While the truck is pretty much dead-on level, I'm beginning to dislike how it looks on even a small incline. I am still fighting the urge to get the 4" Rancho lift, but this is much cheaper and will tide me over for a while.

Do it! That's why I added blocks too.

Just bought 'em. From what I've seen, the install is pretty darn easy. I'm going to try it without removing the tires. I found this thread that makes it seem pretty easy: https://www.f150online.com/forums/su...k-install.html

The first time I removed or installed rear blocks I did them just like the thread you found. My advise, DO NOT jack up the truck from the spring, it can slip and cause some serious damage to you and/or your truck! Trust me I know. Jack the truck up from a flat spot on the frame under the the rear doors, it is much more stable and safer.

Good info, thanks! Does that give enough room to remove and install the new block though? I'm guessing yes, since that is what you are recommending. I'm just having trouble picturing it.

Also, do you do one side at a time?

Barely but yes, if you have a long reach floor jack than it will lift higher. My 20 year old craftsman 3 ton is short and has only a 20" lift and it worked fine.

That will work nice also you can lift from the trailer hitch if you want to little less stable but saves some time. You'll like the 3" blocks just gives it a wee bit of rake but not nearly as much as stock. Looks great on my 2011 fx4 auto spring 2 1/2 coil spacers and 3" block in the rear

Even a 4 ton jack wouldn't lift my truck from any portion of the frame on the sides. Nor was it tall enough to do it from the tow hitch in the back. No need to remove the wheels, and I'd even go so far as to say NOT to do it. I jacked it up from the springs without any issues, but I definitely would've preferred to do it from some point on the frame. It's super easy and takes no more than an hour in total.

Thanks. I liked how it sat at first, but the more I look around, the more I prefer a little bit of rake. I also dislike how it looks when on even a small negative incline, making it look as though I'm squatting.

Hmmm...I guess I'll see how it goes and adapt my approach as I go. I'll try the frame first, then the hitch, then the springs as a last resort.

They should be here on Wednesday next week and I have next week off work, so I should have plenty of time to get them done.

Good choice! Glad you decided to go with it. The rear block can really help the overall look. Make sure the kit comes with new U-bolts.

Got the 3" block installed today. I'm very happy with the results. It took me quite a bit longer than I thought to do the install and I'm not proud of what I had to do to get it done. I ended up having to lift from the leaf springs, but I won't go into detail about how I finally got it done.

Nice! Looks a good bit better IMO

I figured you might have to lift from the springs, like I had to. Good job using the same parking lot too haha

I was just thinking that. Really helps with the frame of reference.
