Thumbs up

I think that step is one of the best ideas Ford ever came out with. I love it!!!

The heights of the tailgates nowadays are way higher then they use to be. I was at the autoshow this year and the superduty had one. If it wasn't for the step, it would be a 4ft hike up and down.

For those of you who don't have back or knee problems , just keep on jumping out of your truck bed. I would appreciate some company in the " bad back and knees" club!

I wish I had that step on my truck ( '99 F150 ext cab)!

Just sayin'!

I now have the step without the handle and love it. Now for the Line X.
Hey, where did you order it from? I can't find that part number on any online sites, but I found the illustration on fordparts.com. Only they want retail.

Thanks,
Gray

Edit:
Nevermind, I figured out how to use their website and choose TASCA...

I use mine pretty often because at 63 I can't jump like when I was 23!

Absolute must have. Great for just lounging at the beach/camping.

At the time, I would not have ordered it. But, when I found the truck I wanted, it had it, and now I can tell you it is worth the price.

Use it all the time. Never had one before, but is now a required item!

I looked at one truck that had it but it looked a little flimsy to me and excessively complicated. I liked the idea but not the implementation. The truck I finally purchased didn't have one.

I purchased an aftermarket one that I like better, A Debo Step. It deploys quickly and one handed, both in and out:

Ordered my truck and left that option off...had to draw the line somewhere and that step wasn't a big priority for me.

I'm in love with the tailgate step and use it all the time. One hand operation to get it out and stow it. I'm 50 years old and not as agile as I used to be. So far I'm not using the pop up handle too much though.

I started leaving the tail gate up and the step extended. People think it's a wing.

Mine doesnt have the step so Im not familiar with how easy it is to pull out and all but I have many times wished I had the one. Im 32 and in at least fair shape and it can be difficult for me to get into the bed especially if your holding something with any weight. I also plan on lifting later on and without a step its gonna be a real pita to get in the bed for me so it would definitely be worth $400 for me.
Ive never searched for it but, is it possible to add the step?
