Would you order the tailgate step for your new truck?

I didn't want it on my truck, but it was the truck I wanted. Now I'm really glad I have it, I just hated the handle and all the plactic that was around it, so I ordered a regular tailgate panel from Ford for $62 and took it all out. I now have the step without the handle and love it. Now for the Line X.

I never thought the step would be useful, on my last truck (F-350) it came with it. I used it more than I ever thought I would, there were many time my hands were full and having the step made it easy. My new truck also came with it and I was glad to see it the first time I looked at the truck. I wonder why none of the big 3 had it 20 years ago.

I like it
I've had my new 2010 for a week. I made fun of it when it first came out, but I have to admit after going to the lot and trying one, I loved it and got one on mine. Yea I'm 47 (old guy) and ya know what as high as the tail gate is, if you want to jump in go for it. Me, I love the step in and it will definately help the wife who is a shortie.

Another vote for yes. My truck came with the "man" step on the tailgate in addition to the bed corner steps. I yanked off the bed steps immediately coming home from the dealer picking up the truck. I just don't see the need esp. with the "man" step. It is handy. Especially when washing it. Nothing worse than slipping on the wet tire or bumper trying to get into the bed.

I like mine. I'm not that old of a guy, but am only 5'-8" and with a bad back it makes it a whole lot easier gettin in and out. I can get in without it, but jumpin down without it jars the crap out of my back and kills me. Call it whatever you want, I like mine and wouldn't trade it now that I have it.

The Chevy marketing team is reading this and grinning. Do you realize none of us would even be talking about if Chevy didn't run that commericail.
I have it and I love it. I have never used the handle but use the step all the time. If anyone is worried about their image having a step on their truck...grow the hell up.

When I built my truck on line, I didn't add it. I also didn't add Synch, rear camera, moon roof, or luxury package. However the truck I bought had all of them. Back up camera I use every time I'm in reverse. Synch I haven't used because I don't get into technology toys. Moon roof, haven't even opened it yet. Don't like the noise it creates when open. I haven't used the tailgate step either, but I figure if the tailgate is down already, why not use it. If the gate is up, I just step on the bumper. I've heard people refer to the bumper as the "man step" and the tailgate step as the "girly-man step" or the "B" step.
But to answer the question; no I wouldn't order it.
