Watcha planning on polishing them with? Thelariat02's headlights have a clear film on them and it's done a good job of keeping them clear, so I may put some of that on mine too.

Maintenance comes before toys unfortunately haha

Basically going to do the wet sand and polish. I've been reading up on it a bit. Seems to be the best way to get them clear again.

So the headlights have taken a seat on the back burner. Unfortunately the halos I've ordered have taken a bit longer than I've hoped to get. I am told now that I will have them in my hands march 15. I've waited this long to reassemble, so another 2 weeks will suck. If I don't have them by the 15 I'm reassembling without halo's.

Unrelated, I had my battery fail today in the -40 Celsius weather. Took that opportunity to install an optima red top. The way it starts now, I should have known my battery was on its way out.

Also, my father bought an 08 f250. He was going to sell his 06 mark lt. So we peeled all the stuff off it that I've got him over the years. So by default I've inherited many parts. Recon led tails, firestone ride rite air spring kit, front receiver hitch. But he has since decided to keep the truck. So I may get the painted to match cap and bedrug if my mother doesn't want it).

Anyways, these tails are getting tinted in the am...

I love plucking parts off of other trucks. I've gotten a lot of stuff off trade-ins

They won't let me do it anymore though . . .

Yeah, it's always nice. So the parts I'm getting, will in turn let my brother take mine. Hand me downs. I'm a bit unsure if I would like the topper, but it's a raider and in immaculate shape. As well as free.

I wish there were more trucks I could get parts off.

I'm particularly happy about the tails. Didn't feel like spending the 450 on those.

Also, you will love the tinted LED tails. Paint and clear coat by a shop? Thats how mine were done, love them.

I will probably be getting my uncles shop to do it. I was going to night shade and clear them myself, but I'm going to drop them off Monday morning.

Also, what brand tails are those? I like the led below the reverse light as well.

The difference between night-shading and doing them right is huge, you'll like them.

Yeah, that's what I've heard. I nightshaded my stock ones, turned out good. I cleared them as well. They turned out half decent.

Also, I've been talking to lifted5.4lariat I'm going to be ordering some emblems, I was thinking about getting them done the DSG. But I'm almost thinking I should go black on them. And I was shocked when I saw a set of his badges on a local truck the other day. Couldn't believe the quality, and how well they've stood up considering he did them a couple years ago.

Spyder brand LED OEM replacements. Were originally all red.

I really like those spyder tails. And I've made my mind up with the emblems as well.

I'm just hoping for better weather. Hard to get motivated to do things when it's this cold.

Dropped the tails off at the body shop this morning. They'll be done by this afternoon. Going medium dark minus the reverse lights. So basically like my stockers.

I know that for sure! Freezing cold, no acceleration for car/truck tweaking. I just dropped my Harley valance off for painting, should be done by the end of the week so I will probably end up pulling the bumper off and bringing it inside to get warm over night then swap valances then . Need to get myself a little garage heater.

Taillight plan sounds good! If you ever end up craving the Spyder tails, your smoked Recons will sell quickly on here I bet!

Good idea on warming up the valence. Cold plastic is never a good thing.

I've been planning on getting my bumper resprayed as it's peppered. I was planning on doing it myself. But my uncle talked me into taking it to his shop on a future Saturday. The tails will be done tomorrow. The clear on one bubbled a bit, so they are going to sand and respray it. They look great, better than a nightshade job for sure. Went a medium tint with them. Don't want to degrade the light quality.

And maybe down the road I'll sell the recons in favour of the spyder tails.
