When they did mine it was out in the parking lot and took 5 minutes and I stood right next to him. They remove a pig tail plug and replace it with a different one in length and has a different protective coating on it.

What caused the air bags to deploy was the old pig tail had poor protective coating and would wear or get caught in the steering wheel over time.

Looks like I'm a winner too, but I knew that already when the notice 1st came out on the news. Forgot about the brake booster hose, guess I'll have it all done at the same time. I'm like a lot of others on here in the fact I hate bringing my truck to any dealer for anything, this will only be the 3rd time I've had my truck at a dealership, once when I bought it, once to have the cluster reprogrammed and the speed control activated, and now this. Funny thing is, the name of the dealership closest to me is called Winner Ford

Man I hate dealerships.. Does the battery need to be disconnected? I dropped mine off this morning and just picked it up.. Seems they had fun experimenting with my stereo, scrolling through DVD,Sat,Tuner, everythings screwed up.

Darn right the battery needs to be disconnected when you are working on anything having to do with the airbags.

Mine's a winner too. Wonder how badly they would try to rob me if I have them do the plugs while they have it. I can do it myself, I just don't really want to.

Well thats what I thought too. That's what I did when I did my steering wheel swap. But when i talked to Ford about it they said "Na we have another way of doing it". So that's why I was just curious if it did have to be disconnected, that would explain the stereo settings etc or if it didnt and they tinkered around with it.

My dealer isn't open on weekends. Gotta do it when I'm off work during the week. Hopefully next Thursday.

My radio settings were gone and the clock was off by an hour too.... So mine was indeed disconnected. They did both recalls though.

Had mine done on Monday, not sure how long it took because I just dropped it off in the morning, but it didn't appear that they had disconnected the battery (all my radio station presets were still set).

Also asked my dealer about the cost on changing plugs, he said $275, plus an extra $50 for each side any break on, so a max of $375. Not great, but not as bad as I've heard of some dealerships doing.
