Once again "Built Ford Tough" is proven....a couple of years ago, a Nissan pickup rear-ended me...totaling his truck....leaving a few scratches and a small dent on my tailgate....well.............
Sunday night at 930 a deputy sheriff's cruiser, at an yet to be determined rate of high speed, crashed backwards into my double car garage and directly into my above mentioned '06 F150...the carnage to the cruiser and garage and two week old Ford Taurus were extensive....the force of the collision to my truck, shoved it forward about 7' and to the side about 4', and through my basement's den wall.....where I was watching TV....I don't know the extent of the damage to my truck, due to the fact that the structural engineers will not allow the removal of vehicles due to the unstable nature of my now, unliveable house, but, at a glance, the truck appears to have some frame damage a few dents ,scrapes ,front, back, sides etc....but, I was shocked to see the realively small amount of visual damage to my truck...
Maybe Mike Rowe can come by and do a Ford commercial..then he can hang around and do an episode of "Dirty Jobs" when the repairs are done. Built Ford Tough...

I certainly hope the driver was issued a ticket for speed unsafe for conditions. Oh wait, he was a cop. Never mind. No charges will ever be filed. Good thing you're OK though. And I'm assuming the officer was OK too?
a quick search reveals no pictures, but evidence that it happened

Hopefully everything turns out OK. But it sounds like it will be a major PITA

My guess on the truck is that if it has frame damage, it is totaled. Especially on a 5 year old truck.

Why worry, apparently when your F150 gets shoved through the side of your house, its easily fixed you only need a garage door and a few cinder blocks.
what relavence is it to say the officer played football, like that doesn't make it ok that he drove into your house. Tell you what if you don't get everything paid for from the cops, hell even if you do, I'd take a civil suit and put that police department to shame.
If you think the wreck was bad, wait until the local officials get thru screwing you to the wall. Your truck will probably bring maybe 5 grand unless you can prove its condition. They're kinda screwed on the new Taurus but expect to have to fight for every dollar out of them. Most likely they are self insured like most local authorities and they're not going to just give you what you want. DOCUMENT everything and keep a diary of all calls, conversations, peoples names, etc concerning this wreck. Get estimates from well known companies in regards to the house and make sure they include engineers reports. You also need to reseacrch lost value of the property due to this on the house AND on the vehicles. I can assure the dealerships will be looking at a Carfax and any wrecks that appear will be a major hickey on trade in value....if you keep either of the vehicles and they're not totalled. I hope money is not tight at yer house cause this is going to cost you. I'd be looking for an attorney NOW.
Thanks for the comments....My 5yr old truck....not a scratch on it, before, 50,000 miles. Garage kept, ALL maint. records kept, interior still smelled new, a real cream puff... KKB and NADA value 17,400-18,300.....The damage to my garage is not just cinder brick...I have structural damage through the house and will be out of my house for about 3-5 months....not just a little brick and garage door fix....The 2011 Taurus.... 600 miles, cant argue on the value of it......
