Got it inspected yesterday. I put my stock tails on so there was no BS. Looked awful.

Got the winch mount plate paint totaly dried up. Bolted up the ground lead and that stray skinny wire that Engo says goes to that ground bolt, got that snugged down, bolted the winch to the plate, per the instructions I torqued the bolts to 35 ft/lbs although I personally think that is a bit uh, light is the word maybe?
Used a magnet to fish the thread insert piece back in place and figured out a technique for getting this back together without loosing it again, run a long skinny screwdriver through one of the holes to hold it in place, then start the bolt in the other thread, once the first bolt is started, move to the next, get all the threads started, and then grab the impact, turn it down a bit, and run the bolts in... I am planning on lining up the fairlead, cutting the bumper and mounting it first, insuring that it is fully secured, with thread locker on the threads, before I jack the winch / plate into place, probably even start the cable through the fairlead before just to make it easier... Going to get a friend to help bench press the whole thing into place just below the bolt holes, while my lovely bride places the jack stands. We can then pick up the last little bit with the floor jack on some 4x4 cutoffs I have as a spacer.

With all the rain we have been getting lately washing is useless. I wish it would stay sunny for a few days.Originally Posted by dbhost

Ah... Then take it out and give it a good color change, to say mud brown... It's dirty enough to look neglected, but not dirty enough to look fun...Originally Posted by DarrenWS6

Jeeze, I figured I would have got more of a chewing for having a Dodge Neon as a daily driver than my black truck being a little un-washed Originally Posted by dbhost

.No off roading with this truck, not too much of my taste anymore, and it makes under body cleaning that much easier.

Just ribbin' ya a little... No fussing from me on driving an econobox as a daily driver. I am rockin' an '01 Saturn SL2 every day cause it's cheap to drive. Took the truck back to work tonight, wanted the metal around me in case some DUI decides to aim at me on the way home...
No offenses taken at all man! I can take some picking
.
Can't wait to get my mirrors back after they get painted though. Tomorrow or Monday if I am lucky. Till then, this looked odd so I removed the skull caps before I drove it down the street

Did my first mod to my truck since I got it, put a Dee Zee Grille Guard on. Found it on craiglist, $50

Haven't had a chance to get some pics in during the day yet. It was dark when I got back last night
