Happy Day, Sad day

When we last left off, our valient confidant was racing home, fighting the clock to make sure he got home before his girlfriend so he didnt get the "whats in the box?" question, and have to explain why he bought a gryphon tuner even after he explained how it would save him money in the long run on gas prices.

With a little trickery, he made it just in time! He called her on the way home to ask her to swing by the store on her way home, very clever if he does say so himself.

So after she goes to bed, he sneaks out into the garage and gets it all mounted. It is truely a thing of beauty. Tell me that doesnt look like it was supposed to be there.

Now if you have been following along, you might find yourself asking, "humble narrator, doesnt our hero have a V6? And dont the gryphons only work for v8?s." And the answer is .... No!

"As for the 4.2L, that's not a problem although you will be required to have custom tunes as the programmer doesn't natively support the V6 calibrations. This means that until you get your custom files, the programmer will only function as a monitor."

So he goes to plug it in for the first time and gets the message "we currently do not support this VIN." Oh no! Maybe it just needs a firmware update. "Lets go install the pegasus software."

After 2 hours of trying to get the software to recognize the device and 3 computers running windows 7, XP, and 2000, he has to give up and beseeches the wonderful people at PHP to help him through these tough times.

Have you ever been married? Better yet, How many times have you been divorced.

FlashmasterK - Good idea on calling the woman and having her pick something up from the store. Very slick OBY-ONE!!! Man those new CS look nice.

When you turn "girlfriend" into "wife" and add a couple of years and a "kid" or "2" then come back and comment.

update.

The software installation was my bad. The CS and CTS gryphons use the Fusion software, not the pegasus. One problem down, one to go.....

Man im only seventeen, been with my girlfriend roughly for two years. She gets on my *** for buying parts. i hear all the time, "you spend more on your truck then you do on me". i tell her, "my truck has never let me down". she doesnt like that one very much. Its all good. im real good at making/saving money. I have my eyes on some HID hi/lo kits, tinted tails, windshield tint, exhaust, and soooo much more.

Maybe FlashmasterK should lay off the sauce for a while

It might be time for this stories lead to put down the hooch for a while. Let me explain....

Last friday was a particularly difficult day at work, and after getting home late, a nice glass of scotch was waiting. (Talisker 10 year) Since his woman was getting up early to train for the MS-150 that is tomorrow, she wanted to take it easy and just hang out. Well that means she was out cold by 10 pm.

Now our hero is kinda of a night owl, so he was in no mood to go to bed so early, and he had a nice bottle to keep him company. Not being an idiot, he doesnt go anywhere since he was feeling right nice after the second glass...

Next coherent memory is waking up at 4am with sportscenter blaring on the tv, he picks himself up and staggers into bed. "Are you just now coming to bed?" "Nah, I just had to go to the bathroom" (too slick!)

He thinks nothing of it and goes about his buisness, until......

He gets home yesterday and there is a large box on the front doorstep. Oh crap, what the hell is this. Maybe its for the neighbors. Nope, its his. He opens it up and to his shock, amazement, and bewilderment, its a brand new bull bar for the truck. "How tha, what tha, when did I?" OHHHHH! (lightbulb)

Sure enough, a charge on the credit card shows last friday at 2am, a purchase was made, it was just waiting to clear so it hadnt shown up on the statement yet.

"Well, it would be a shame not to put it on, since its paid for and all......."

The story slowed down... I think we need someone to start a fire for some more entertainment.
