Not all at. I am the lab supervisor in a environmental/toxicology lab. Absolutely nothing to do with trucks. And my boss does think its kinda funny that every once in a while I am outside with my phone taking pictures of my truck

Just tell your boss that your making sure there are no oil spills or leaks coming from your truck... And your taking pictures to document the process, for one day there might be, and then you will do test on the oil/spill to see if it is effecting the driveway at your work..

haha

You know it's bad when you stalk the UPS and FEDEX trucks as they come into your neighborhood, hoping to catch them before they ring the doorbell, so that you can put the boxes that keep being delivered where they belong... In the corner of the garage... NOT in the house...

I'm having flashbacks of the "leg lamp" scene from "A Christmas Story"

The look on his wife's face... classic

OOOH FTW!!!!!

Lol. I check the status on the deliveries like every hour when it gets near my house even though I know I'm not going to know the exact time it's coming just to get all excited all over again knowing it's going to be here soon. waiting for the part is about 1/2 the excitement. Except when something postpones it and it get's delayed then t's just dissappointing. ;D

1. Regarding the scratch reaction. You should know, allergies and the reactions to same are not a constant. Individual reactions to allergens may change to and fro, over time. Sometimes quite quickly. Stupid cat.

2. You say you work in a toxicology lab? Motor vehicles are FULL of toxic agents. Brake dust, lubricants and fluids, etc. Come on buddy, use your already devious mind! Workin' here, boss.

3. Ths thread is great reading. A Canterbury Tale gone Texan!

This is true... Allergic reactions are IgE mediated... Those are the special antibodies whose production is "stimulated" by said irritating agent. This, through a series of actions/reactions results in them being mass produced and attatched to mast cells, whose job it is to release of histamine. The amount of histamine that is released depends on multiple variables.

1. Has said insulting chemical ever been introduced to the system prior to now? If not... there is a phase of this call the "Sensitizing" stage in which the first time the allergen is introduced, the body recognizes it, and "loads the system" (if you will) for the next time... every person has varying amounts of mast cells in their body...

(Example... if you are allergic to bees... first sting... minor reaction... second sting... anaphylactic shock!)

2. What if the chemical you are reacting to was NOT present (hehe) in the cats mouth/claws the first time contact was made... The microbiologic millieu is constantly and continuously variable...

3. What if the second incident was actually bacterial in nature and NOT mediated by an allergy...

4. If desparate... Oh well... the day the first one happened, I had taken Zyrtec because I was feeling a bit sniffley... so I guess the first time it minimized the effects serendipitously...

If she gives you trouble... Just copy this and hand it over to her... This references #1 above...

First time allergen is present... it makes the IgE's and the second time the allergen is present... the Little "mast cells" shown at the bottom are already primed and ready to go... they are what release the hisitamine and cause all the problems

Just overwhelm with confusing mumbo jumbo... and bury the truth in the data... Lawyers do this all the time...

OOOwwwww.... My brain just exploded...

See why I need to be on a truck forum... I spend all my time learning that junk... So I have to troll this forum to pick OTHER people's brains for info on how to modify, fix, replace, improve, etc... my truck...

It's sad isn't it??

Great thread!

One day you will think of this site as I do.

This site definitely saved me a lot of money!

I can't imagine what it would have cost me to have SOMEONE ELSE put on my body lift, headers, blower, etc, etc.

Oh and thank God I found this site AFTER I was married!

The real trick is to get a woman that loves your for you and wants you to be happy, even if that means spending money on a truck. Give up your ***** now and be miserable for life!

As long as bills are paid and food in the house and all needs are met, leave me be!
