Raising my truck for my son
Raising my truck for my son
I have a 2004 ford f150 4x4 just recently gave it to my 15 yr old son and he is wanting to raise it and put 35s on it any suggestions on suspension v/s body lifts I have raised some trucks in the past but dont have a clue about the new ones.
seeing your in alabama, id recommend a suspension lift cuz your kid is gonna use it.
you cant go wrong really with any of the different lift brands fabtech, pro comp, and bds are the more popular lifts of this site. i ran BDS on my 07 for a few years and had no issues.
and id recommend a really good aggressive mud terrain for him.

Dude seriously not every kids going to tear a truck up just cuz they lift it, I wouldn't say something like that unless I knew the kid

I would get a 2.5" AS and some 35's. That is what i would like to do. Just to contradict what some people are saying, i'm 16 and I treat my truck like its my little sister. Always wash and never take it off-road. Brent
Well firstly, thats a hell of a nice gift and a very nice first vehicle. If he realizes how lucky he is to have it I doubt he would tear it up off road, plus I would imagine a father giving his son a truck that he will make damn well sure the son will take care of it. I had a 2002 Trans Am when I was 16, the power scared me sometimes lol, once I got used to it I was thankful for what I had and learned how to really use it, safely.
I think he will get bored of the level really quick, if your gonna get bad economy with 35s you might as well have the suspension lifted 6"s more. Thats not a really big lift but its enough to clear ruts, some branches, and to look a bit better.
