When you take them off, Don't heat them up, Just saw thru the backing with some spider wire (braided fishing line) like mentioned earlier, The backing will hold the heat and is a SOB to peel off when warm, I cut the passenger side cold and cooled it more yet with snow and it peeled off in 1 piece

alright guys i got a little discouraged when my idea didn't work. But i didn't give up. So what i have don't or am doing now is, i ordered fender badges and a tail gate badge for a flareside. I cut the tabs off the side of the fender badges and going to fill the side with some epoxy. I am scuffing the chrome and taping the center of the badges to paint dark shadow gray to match the grill and wheels of my FX2. Keeping the center black to match the truck. I think its going to look awsome! as soon as i can get to a place to up load pics i will show what i have got so far. Freaking dealership blocks alot of internet sites like photobucket etc.

First off, that rubber backing tape is gnarly...my thumbs still hurt from pulling/rubbing on it! WD40 really help to break down the backing but it still took a LOT of patience and rubbing to get that crap off there.
Having said that, these badges look great! They look so much better on the truck than I expected. For me, this was hugely worthwhile mod and cost less than $70!
Thanks for the idea guys!

I used 3M adhesive remover and it worked great! I love the '09 emblems as well!

The easiest way to get the adhesive off the truck is to punch a hole in the adhesive where that bigger hole in the fender is. Then pull the adhesive towards the front or rear of the vehicle. The whole chunk of adhesive came off in one piece, no sore thumbs

Part number for these? I like them since they dont have the trim package (XLT, Lariat, etc.) on them.

You are putting them on fenders and tailgate right?
