My truck

2004 XL SCAB 4.6 with 55000 miles on her...so far no MAJOR anything. She runs strong and so far get me where I want to go. I do plan on getting a full tune up (Plugs, cap, dist...etc.) soon. This is my weekend car only, my daily driver is a 90 Fox body vert.

2004 STX 4.6L 2wd.

52000 miles on it. I have had it since 30K miles and i have had to replace all 4 ball joints, one outer tie rod, alternator and the battery. Nothing major. I hope to get well over 100K miles out of it.

Wow. That's gotta be the lowest mile '04.

My new to me '04 has some worn ball joints and it's in need of cam phaser. This one is a ton better than my silver '04 FX4 was.

Not even close... Tg150 has 20 something on his and ddwello has less than 10k on his 05 iirc. I think he's around 8k.

I bought mine in 2009 with 36 gonna roll over 70k in October

Very impressive John, Pretty close and good memory .. Just went and checked.. Its currently at 20,262.

Even with the few miles I still had a few "bugs" if you will.
Butyl pad recall right after i bought it.
Truck was stuck in park in my driveway-- Replaced brake lock actuator, I think thats what it was called.
Had a rear end thump-- Driveshaft/slip yoke inspected for flaking (none found), lubricated driveshaft slip yoke with teflon grease.
Inaccurate message center fuel recording-- Replaced fuel pump level sender.
And just recently-- Steering wheel airbag recall.

Thankfully nothing major and were all covered under warranty. Haven't had any other issues.

I bought mine new in Oct.03 and it just turned 148k and still going strong. The cam phaser noise is pretty bad but runs great.

So far the only components I've had to change was sparkplugs, alternater, battery, and most recent a bent rear axle shaft due to being involved in a minor accident.

I've takin good care of it and it has returned the favor. "knock on wood"

Just Turned 50.

I guess I have been pretty luck up to this point, but now that she's just turned 50 (53,245) I have been plagued with a series of problems.

I lost my 4th (overdrive) gear the other day and the transmission goes into neutral when it happens with the Transmission malfunction display lighting up. Turn off the overdrive switch before you get to speed and it's OK. Will take it in for an expensive repair this week to an independent transmission shop in San Diego called Discount Transmission.

Also, right rear window went "POP" then slid down. Running the switch sounds like shards of glass in the engine, but probably just the regulator motor etc.

What's the BEST replacement part for the right rear window?

Has been a LOOOONG time since I list visited, mainly because I've been busier'n crap...but I wanted to chime in here.

Just turned 145K on my '04. (4.6L) As far as vehicles I've owned go, other than my '08 Fusion goes, this has been by FAR the most reliable vehicle I've ever had. Here's the list of stuff I had fixed:

- Driver rear view mirror @ 5K
- Right rear blinker light @ 140K
- Fuel hinge @ 144K

That's it. *shrug* Transmission is strong, and other than a squeak/rattle here and there (mostly due to me installing a sound system) it runs like the day I bought it.
