202,000 on my 04' super cab. This past winter tranny went out and the front diff siezed up about 2 months apart from each other. Besides that no problems what so ever other than replacing an idler pulley about 3 years ago. Roughly 198,000 when lost the tranny and diff.

04 Screw Lariat 4x4 133k miles
new driver's window reg
new seal on 3rd brake light
500 to get plugs replaced
steering nibble
ball joints and tie rods
new serpentine
drivetrain fluids flushed
radiator flushed
new brake fluid
oil change regularly with MC semi syn oil and MC oil filter
fuel filter changed in proper intervals

everything seems to be running ok right now
had the driveshaft/rear diff clunk since day one
loud diesel like engine noise since the beginning
cleaned out power window switches
new head unit

crackhead tore out my keyhole. couldn't get in so broke my back window. wouldn't mind getting my keyhole replaced.

1 MC and on my 2nd Duralast batteries
prolly get a new set of tires in the near future

good power towing a 21 ft bay boat. gas mileage sucks but get it up to 80 mph without straining.

maybe the truck will make it to 200k miles without any major issues.

would like to get a f250 but they have serious durability/reliability issues. Maybe the Scorpion motor will be better. I drag the boat around here and there and haul medium sized loads on a regular basis but if Ford can't make a decent 3/4 ton motor then there's no point in getting one. I expect the diesels to last 300k miles with little or no problems. From what I'm reading the f150 are doing a better job getting there. I really don't want to get a 06-07 cummins.

04 FX4 Crew... 145K on it. Been changing oil, oil filter and cleaning K&N air filter every 4-5K. fuel filter, seafoam and TB cleaning every 20K. Still running better than a chevy with 50K on it...

I need to tune up and replace shocks really soon as they are both long over due, but really happy with my 5.4L FX4!!

I recently traded my '04 for an '11 EB, but here's what I had to do @ 80,000 miles:

Tie Rod ends needed to be replaced
Ball Joints needed to be replaced
Spark Plugs needed to be replaced
Most fluids needed to be changed

Instead of doing any of it, I left it to the dealer to deal with. I recently had a child and the supercab wasn't a good fit for me anymore.

Some minor rust spots developing on rear bumper/frame/undercarriage.

Weird clunk in front suspension somewhere (sway bar??)

All in all, it was the best truck I've ever owned, but that might be overtaken by the '11.

Wow, you waited until 80,000 miles for an oil, trans fluid and filters change? (in a scolding the dog voice) Bad truck owner , just kidding. I know about the ball joint replacement, had to do mine at 25,000 miles and replaced them with a set of moogs with the zerks for greasing and have never looked back, that's one area Ford skimped on IMO. I'm at 194,000 now and it's time to do the upper ball joints, of course that will include having to replace the upper control arms with them (unfortunately another bad idea from ford) but no big deal, still the best damn truck I've ever owned!

Hi everyone, first post on this website. Other than small things like spark plugs, MY overdrive gear needed replacing, as well as a new rear end. (I had changed to a 4.56 with 35" tires so this was pretty harsh on it) Funny thing is I had gone through an intersection on the ice and hit a tree on the other side. The whole front end was caved in so far that a man could stand in it, but to everyone's amazement the truck still drove! No leaks or steering problems. I actually drove it around like that, waiting for the insurance company estimate. Caught a lot of attention from people.

Well right now I am not very happy with my truck (04 Screw FX4) with 89, 000 K/M. I bought it new and came off extended warranty in november of last year. From February till now I have had to change Blower motor, MAF sensor, #5 coil burned up on me, Alternator, camshaft sensor, thermostat, and throwing new codes every couple of days. Now just 2 days after changing the alternator I am getting p0430. Cat converter it appears will be the next thing on my list. As well as new brakes and tires on order. It was the most expensive vehicle I have bought and now turning out to be the most unreliable one. Sticker price on mine was $49, 835 + Tax CAD.

Can you help me ? last night coming home truck made a noise and started blowing massive amounts of white smoke from the exhaust each time I pushed on the gas petal. It is a Ford F-150 power stroke, 2004. Hardly have 55,000 miles on it and its the Good truck, have a older F 150 I use for everyday driving ? Read something about The EGR and a head gasket?
Said the dealer would run around 7,500.00 to repair. Can you tell me anything about this before I have to sell my FIRST BORN ?

you mean an f-250 powerstroke? well it sounds like you've got yourself a 6.0L they're very notorious for having problems with the headgaskets blowing(new head studs) and EGR problems(EGR delete) along with a few other things

I got my 04 lariat screw a little over a year ago with 59k on it and have got it up to 72k so far. It hasn't given me the slightest problem yet, and its in great shape. The previous owner owned a detailing shop in Mrytle Beach, so needless to say the truck is spotless. The only paint chip is about the size of a pencil eraser on the corner of the front passenger fender flare. I don't think he had any problems with it, so it has been a good truck. It doesn't have the cam phaser tick or anything. The only problem I can see in the future is the spark plugs. I'm not sure if he changed them, but they are gonna get changed soon.
