Wow... It has been over 2.5 years since my last update to this thread.

I bought the truck new in 2004 and I just recently turned over 168,000 miles on my truck (6 years old) and it is still going strong.

I think the biggest thing I have done since my last update was replaced the rear axle seals about 2 years ago.

I just bought a 04 F150 Lariat with 51k on the clock. I had the dealer replace the plugs and service the tranny as a part of the deal. They also replaced some bushings in the front end while they had it. It's now in the shop for a complete rear end replacement after only owning it for 3 weeks. I have noticed the lights in the window switches are burned out also but other than that it seems pretty good.

I hear ya. When I started this thread over 3 years ago, I never expected it to keep going like this.

Maybe I should ask the mods to make it a sticky.

Mine keeps going and going with currently 125,000 on it. No major issues and only typical maintenance issues. Bought it new in 2004 and one of the best things was I paid extra for the undercoating and here in the midwest, they like to throw salt all over the place in the winter and I dont have any rust whatsoever. Keep her clean, inside and out, good coat of wax periodically and hopefully she will run forever.

I just recently picked my 04 up. On a 6" lift and 35" BFG MT's. All stock performance wise which is about to change. I need to do a little better than 10.5 MPG. And this thing needs to make some noise. So exhaust, electric fans, and a tuner coming soon. Plugs, fuel filter, switching to synthetic today. it has 61,000 miles on it. DSG, FX4, Screw, in clean clean shape!

Long time no post, My 2004 F150 that I purchased in early 2004 is doing great. I am now at 48K miles, replaced the tires once, have had two 4x4 alignments, replaced all brakes, replace serpantine belt, had to get the side mirror wiring fixed (warranty), throttle issue last year (warranty), oil change regularly. I still love this truck and it has been very good to me.

Just bought my new/used '04 couple weeks ago. Don't know if it ever made it in for the recalls, but I have found a few issues:

1) AC not draining well enough. Pass. side floorboard/carpet wet. Downloaded the TSB and will fix myself.
2) Compass is 180* off and no amount of calibration will correct it. No big deal yet.
3) Horn honks when you hit interior lock/unlock button. Last owner said he had pass. side window regulator replaced and it has done this ever since. Very annoying to me.
4) Went offroading yesterday and if "feels" like it has no power down low. I'm basing this off my '06 5.4. Something just doen't feel right when i punch it. Doubt the addition of the Flowmaster caused it, but I'll look into it later.

86K miles. Gas mileage is good, Air blows cold, starts everytime. Now all I need is a 6" lift wheels/tires.

Got a door dent.

Actually, it's a dent in my door caused by a sloped drive at a gas station and me inattentively opening the door. It whipped open and crashed into one of the protective posts. I always park in BFE, so no other dents anywhere.

I did have the driver's side window regulator replaced when it exploded at an inopportune moment. Other than that, no issues. Just regular oil changes every 3K miles. (28K miles now.) My truck has a very easy life.

[Yes, that's dirt. It is mid-CA-to-AZ-move full of furniture right now and won't reach the destination until next weekend. Then I'll wash it!]

40k here on my '04 is all and besides the 3rd brake lite leak I fixed way back when, today the rear window regulator went.
Seems like somebody would be making a billet window slide by now for these rigs. Other than that Im way happy.

I bought my 2004 in Feb of this year. It has 130k miles. The only problem it has was clogged cats. That was fixes already. It started shifting erratically, but was the TPS sensor. Aside from this, truck is running like a champ.

150,000 Miles

Just turned 150,000 the other day! Bought it brand new and it still looks great too. Leather a bit worn on drivers side, but the rest cosmetically is holding up well. I used Griots paint sealent from the beginning and the paint shines like new even with it being kept outside its whole life. Replaced one front passenger windo regulator or plastic gear that went bad. Back electric slider hasn't woked since year 2 of ownership.

Mechanically only items have been upper and lower control arms oon the drivers side, the rest has been normal wear items, brakes, tires, battery and that's about it. Truly the best vehicle I have ever owned. I was going to get rid of it at 150,000 miles but now keeping till at least 200,000 miles. Plus it has been paid off since 2006! Really want a Raptor but that can wait.
