LOOK MOM, NO KEY!!! – ford2004f150, STARTER BUTTON INSTALL!
Do you have to have a remote start system or can you install this mod even w/ out having a remote start system cuz having a push button start is pretty baller status and would love to do that to my truck?
I've been meaning to get a remote start I'm going to rewire it so I can start the truck without the key in the ignition (still cannot drive it, just start it). I will take a video of my new Z1 when I get it, and the push button start as well. At the moment I've wired my push start ignition to start only with the key in the ignition.

I would like to see somebody rig up a system like the cars in europe have. As long as your keys are in your pocket all you need to do to drive is press the start button. Same with door locks, they unlock with the keys being in your pocket once your near your vehicle. Now that would make a start button worth having.

THIS MOD you can start it WITHOUT the key, JUST NOT drive it anywhere. This boosts up the coolness factor of the mod.
Also - it will only run for 15 mins and shut off, IF it was ever left running for whatever crazy reason.

ok i just got my s2000 button, but not sure of which pins i use? i know if it were going to a regular starter relay pin 1 would go to the relay pin 2 goes to power and pin3 goes to ground
but you said you only used 2 wires ground and then the ground pulse to the alarm, which wire went to which pin?

He said only 2 wires, but clearly he has it hooked to 12v, as the light cannot operate off ground. I think he was just referring to his trigger wires. Google "S2000 starter install" and you'll find a diagram of which pin does which.
yeah i looked at several diagrams and its just that they were all positive output not ground like needed on the code alarms, i had tried a few different variations of the wires and couldnt figure it out but i finally got it
yeah i figured he had to have a 12 for the light, but not sure how he did that unless if i wired it different then him because i wired mine up by making the following connections, pin1 to ground(diagrams online show this as the output pin) pin2 to the alarm(and this one is for power) then the third pin online they say is for ground.....maybe hook pin3 to 12v?
btw here are a few pics
