The S2000 OEM light sucked, so I ran a prewired LED in from a tap off the parking light wire... choose your color here:
http://www.oznium.com/prewired-leds

Position the LED to backlight the "ENGINE START" on the button inside the chrome housing.

I've called you out on this before, and you didn't respond then either. How did you open the button, it's completely sealed. The picture you posted looked exactly like mine does with the factory LED in there.

The pics are what I went by to change out the bulb for an LED.

Basicly you want to dremal cut/drill a hole to replace the bulb like shown here.

The bulb is the size of an LED and you can replace it with a prewired one.
I used a drop of super glue to hold mine in the spot of the original backlight bulb.

I'll get some pictures of my setup soon for you.

Hope this helps.

FYI: you can't really use the bulb circuit from the pins when used w/ a remote start wire... so the S2000 SB bulb won't work.

thats kinda what i was thinking, that you cant use the stock bulb with a alarm setup, but i still have one question how do you get that bulb out? i notice there is a slot do you just unscrew it with a screw driver?

Dude MAD PROPS! That is awsome! I have been wanting to do this for years I just never knew how. The carbon fiber dash looks amazing with the start button. If I wanted to do this without a remote start or alarm, and wanted to put the key in and push the button to start it, which ignition wire would I connect it to? I think Joshia has this type of setup. I want to NOT be able to start the truck by turning the key, but be able to start it by pushing the button. Is this possible?

ive already forgotten the wire diagrams of this button but there are many websites with how to's on doing it without an alarm, you just need to ground i think the 3rd pin ign to the 2nd pin and the third to a relay to your starter

o and to not start it just simpily cut the starter wires from the key cylinder

Yeah I already found a TON of installs of the S2000 button but they're all on Civics and Scions, ect... I just need to find out which wire is the ignition wire basically?

What's the point?

First off, this is my opinion and if you don't agree with it, there's no need to argue or try to defend your stupid mod. With that said...

If you still have to insert the key and turn it before pushing the button, then what is the point? I mean WTF! The whole point of having a push-button start is that it makes starting the truck EASIER. Your mod adds another step to starting the truck. That's just stupid.

Once again, if you don't agree, just leave it at that. You posted it up to get opinions...and I gave mine. It's a ridiculously stupid mod that does nothing but add another "layer of possible failure" along with all the other layers that you have added.

im not arguing or disagreing but you can still start it like normal, ill probably barely ever use this button, but here are a few scenerios that i would use it, i go to leave my house get to my truck and relize i forgot my key so i unlock it with the keypad then hit the button then run back inside to get my keys, or im at a carshow and showing my system off to someone (i dont like to run my system with the truck off) and if im showing off my system odds are they will think the push button start is bad *** too, or if me and other people are leaving to go somewhere in my truck if its unlocked or they know my keypad number then they can get it started, or since this is connected through the alarm then i can hit the button and take my key out with it running and go in the store real quick in stead of fumbling with my key fob.....those are just a few things i could think of real quick

I understand where your coming from. I am torn between the push button start (even though I'm going to install it in my truck).

1. It does complicate the starting process but unless your being chased by the cops and have to get in and GO! Its really not that HUGE of a deal to push the button. Its actually probably fun to push the button. Kind of makes you want to go drive somewhere. haha

2. It is mainly for the WOW factor of things. I mean its a F150 and Vipers and S2k's come with the push start. No body would've thought you would do it to an F150. Some may think its gay, some may think wow thats really cool.

3. I get your point of view, Its kinda like seeing a totally pimped out 1987 Accord Sedan and your just like..... OMG why?!?! why would someone do that to a car like that.

4. My first mod was neon green neons in my truck after a while I thought they were really gay. So I took them out. Now im left with a toggle that doesnt work. Like I care, if over time I think the mod is stupid then Ill take the button out, rewire it back to normal, and put the stupid little coin try back where the button was.

Ohh I found the two wires for the ignition. Which one do I connect it to? I think its Light green and Violet, or Red and Light Blue.

On a closing note: Memebers need to stop being such pissy little bitches on here, especially if they only have 3 posts and dont know jack about their truck. You come here to learn and find help about your truck, not to start sh*t. It's not World of Warcraft or Halo online. Its a F150 Forum. Anyone who is being as*holes to others and raggin on peoples sh*t, go drink your Cranberry Juice or get off the forum. <--- Not dirrected towards anyone specifically. Have a Grand DAY!!!

Hey Freaky: Congrats on the Fiesta Bowl.
