It just might work... Sense CA makes the alarms for Ford.

You will want to find the "remote start trigger wire", usaully white w/ light blue strip on the 22 pin connector on the CA alarm or on (maybe) the "Ford" alarm you have.

Just call code alarms.... they should be able to tell you.

Excellent, thanks for the help. As long as my system has this, I will be doing the mod to my truck. I already have an S2000 button on the way.

Still an extra step to a process there was nothing wrong with to start with....IMO. But thats just IMO...if you like it and think its super cool and snazzy...CONGRATS!

Awesome save and return !!

Wonder if all the dump truck drivers feel cool with their push buttons?

Did you really need to add that

The button looks nice and I may end up swapping mine out depending on how that button feels (on order) but the jabs could've been a little more subtle. I am unable to tell which one looks better but judging from the replies I think yours takes the cake. Hope you don't mind if I use your button, especially for the price.

Just wondering if anyone know of a way to set something like this up, but just to keep the truck running when the key is takin out.. I dont need to start the truck, I just want it to keep running as some of the guys have already talked about. Our ambulances have this feature and I love it, very handy. I dont have a security, I just have remote start. Any help would be great

That is what this mod does!

You are right, I edited that junk out.

No, I don't mind at all. I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't want other to copy the concept.

Otherwise, without the one-touch-start and the key being needed, it is just a nice look/cool (yet pointless) function.

Before you talk about your "functions" reasons (ie wife wanting to start it or leaving it running when you run into a store)...why couldnt you just pass the keys to the woman or use the keypad lock on the outside of the truck and leave it running (assuming you have that, if not, I can see that mod being more useful than this one you just completed)

Just trying to give a little constructive criticism
The biometrics is a good idea but overkill for a simple start button mod.

One day, doing something like this, will come in handy for someone that already has this feature on their alarm…..

Pointless.
What if , what if, what if.. life passes you by when all you worry about is What if.
What if you die tomorrow? Then this mod is pointless.

What if - It's HOT outside and you slip on a banana peel and your keys go flying? You can start the truck with the button and get the truck cooled down while you search for the keys.

WTF?

If you don't like it DON'T do it.... seeing how this is your second post, that is a great way to start off!

If anyone posts a mod around here they get busted on left and right.
Too many people raggin' on others for sharing mods.. lots of that in this forum. Yes, pointless with you.

Yeah, I'd be real proud of the fact that I had 646 posts, and every one said "guys, look at my newest mod!"
And then everyone else rings in with "nice mod" or "looks great"
Bull$%^!

Chill out, its a forum thats what we do here. No ones keeping you here but your post of "pointless" seems a little harsh. Especially due to the fact that you know nothing about this man, and if it's pointless, SO WHAT!? You didn't install nor pay for it, so you have nothing to worry about.

To the OP - nice thinking - I always admire a simple but elegant approach, regardless of the task/mod.

I wuz thinkin' maybe to get the PATS chip from one of my key FOB's surgically implanted in my butt-cheek, and put the sensing system in the driver's seat.

Remove that pesky ignition & interlock from the column altogther, add a pushbutton, and voila - the Redneck version of a bye-o-metrically secure PB start.

Only thing stoppin' me is the response I'd get if I ever had to tell the dealer I needed my a$$ reprogrammed.....:o

Cheers
Bubba

LOL

You'd have to move the key cylinder to the glove box or the keyless or pray you sell it before the fob runs out of juice asuming you have a stock security rig.

edit: Can't type
In fact it may almost be worth it just to mess with the stealership.
