So now we can't use a tuner, because their are not any for Titan owners? But out of factory many have said Titans are pushed to their max> sooo maybe we should just request them not to tune the s*** out of thier trucks from the factory? If we can't compare them at any stage from stock to modified, then why is their even room for discussion? Run whatcha brung....excuses only follow the loss. If we wanted a "fair" race then detune the Titan. As for now Josiah chose to tune his 5.4 because thier was room to do so "why not, comes to mind" and won this race. Oh by the way this is not arguing "this is a discussion". I've exhausted both Nissan dealerships within 30 miles (long story) so I can't exactly go test drive another one and film that, or I would. If they're running high 7 second 0-60's stock, that is not quick. It's quicker than my truck but it's extremely overrated, you guys have seen many people here post quicker times than that with just a tuner. 2 properly tuned vehicles (unfortunately the F150 needs a tuner to be properly tuned) amounts to an apple to apple race. It's now a test to each engine, and not to each tune.

 

just out of curiousity, lets say someone(with out getting technical) drops NOS on their ride with a ton of other mods and smokes one of us in our stock ride. Would that be a true win for them?

No one said that using a tuner was cheating. I was merely making a point that this scenario was not an apples to apples comparison. Turbo vs. turbo, s/c vs s/c, nitrous vs nitrous; these would all be fair comparisons. When you invest in aftermarket accessories and power adders, you change the variables when comparing one make/model to another. An age-old example would be a bone stock F-body against a modded Fox. Of course the Mustang will smoke the Camaro. But out of the box, the Camaro was the absolute undisputed power-value on the market. Now, don't get all offended because I just mentioned that the Mustang was an inferior stock product. I'm an AVID Mustang fanatic and between my fiancee and myself, we've owned the following: 1986 T-top 5.0, 1988 notchback, 1994 (306 w/heads, cam, intake, Vortec), 1999 GT vert, and a 2004 Mach I. I've loved Mustangs since the first time I smelled CAM2.

Now a 3rd Gen "Chimaro" is just a total POS...

As far as the running what you've brung comment, I still contend that a N/A F150 will not hold against a stock Titan. There may be exceptions, but without some extreme gears, it's not likely. (note: "likely"). I'm just saying that I don't feel that the Titan owner was going out WOT.

To sum up, I'm just saying that the Titan is stronger than the F150 in my experience. Being a Mustang fan, I'm sure you know all about "Wednesday" motors. Maybe I just got lucky with my SE. I don't know?

Jesus, you make a few valid remarks and everyone jumps down your throat. Considering I'm one of the only people on here that owns a Titan and an F150, you would think I'm a fairly unbiased source of information. I've already said that the FX4 is my undisputed fav of the two.

 

 

May I ask why you own two relatively new trucks?

You really need to quit trying to time 0-60s with your camera. But anyway, here's what my buddies completely stock Titan runs.





We're gonna line em up on Sunday, and I fully expect him to win. I'm still running 3.55s with 32" tires until I can find a shop that doesn't want $1k+ to swap in 4.56s.
