Why the F150?

Why the F150 over the Chevy, Dodge or Nissan 1/2 ton trucks?

A-plan.

Plus, I just flat-out like the F150 better... appearance, design, etc.

I'll tell you why I am looking at the F150.

I have had three Dakotas. My third will be my last. I do not want a Dodge truck. I am tired of leaks.

I want a 4-door full-size 4X4 truck.

I do not like the looks or engine/gear combinations in the Chevy.

I like the looks of the F150. My father-in-law works for a dealership, so I can get the D-plan. I can also get an X-plan if I want to.

There are only two things I don't like about the F150. I don't like the COP's, and I don't like the "drive by wire" throttle system.
I want one coil. I want one cable from my gas pedal to the throttle body.

If all goes well, I should be in a new F150 by April'ish.

What Phenom said... 300.00 a month for a 30,000 truck is sweet.

Toyota is too small

Nissan appearance isn't for me (some like)

Chevy is a 15 yo design

Which narrows it down to Ford and Dodge. The Dodge 4.7 is a little gutless so you need to go Hemi. But I'm not interested in 8 mpg.

To me, the Ford is a much nicer overall package than the Dodge.

I don't believe in "truck bashing", so none of that here...the reasons i chose the F-150 are:
1. I don't like the looks of the Titan plain and simple.
2. Chevy's look like an "old" truck that they keep adding things to instead of redesigning it to keep up with others in the 21st century. They also sit too low for me.
3. I considered Dodge, but after the test drive it rode like my old 01 F-150, it had bed hop on the freeway, and when hitting the smallest of dips it would sway back nd fourth, it was also noisy in the cab.
4. Toyota Tundra was too small.

All trucks and cars have problems. There is no one best manufacturer in the truck market today. With this being said, I was part of the launch team (HVAC) for the 2004 P221 (F150). Because of this I have a unique knowledge of the trucks good and bad qualities. This sold me. Also, $8000 off sticker did not hurt.

They just last longer. Chevy's rust away to nothing. Its the only company that makes a truck that can take the abuse of work. We always has super duty's because of load capacity but Fords are just built to last much better. Just look on the road and see how many 80's and ealy '90's model Fords compared to Chevy's and even less Dodge. A Ford truck's life span is way longer.

Ford is the only company that makes a full size extended cab that will fit in my garage!
