I skipped GM because my two-year old Sierra was having problems that the dealership either couldn't find, or needed to order parts for (read - come back next weekend for us to fix it).
I drove a Toyota and liked it, but the "7/8's scale" quote I read somewhere is accurate. Plus I couldn't find the model I wanted and the local dealerships were not interested in selling it at a reasonable price.
I had a Nissan in the past and I'm not convinced Japan has a good understanding of how Americans use their trucks. Their truck is a great first generation...but it is still a first generation.
As for Dodge...I didn't like their interior, the size of the crew cab (about the same as my extended cab Sierra) and I think they're still having quality problems.
So when I sat in the Ford and test drove it, the decision was simple.
