and now back to the vibration...........
Mine was born 15 Apr. 04 at Norfolk. I don't have any rear end noises or limited slip clutch chattering, haven't had any ETC/limp mode problems. I do have a few rattles here and there and that steering wheel shimmy, but that's it.
Mine was built in Norfolk, Va. and I took possession on the 11th of Mar. It went in the shop on 19 Apr. for the vibration problem. Only had 1126 Miles on it. Now it has been in the shop since 6 Jul and had just over 3400 miles on it when it went back in. Waiting for the driveshaft/dampner replacement but I have my doubts about the problem being cured. I guess I will know something come morning. My intention is to look them in the eye. They never indicated that they knew of a problem or any TSB. Pretty sneaky on their part but they will know that I am aware of it once I get in there. I'm little but I'm loud.
Week four....Dealer received rear end and it is being installed today. I'll let you know if this resolves the issue. Everything on the TSB has been done by my dealership including a new drive shaft. My dealership is real picky so I can guarantee you that I won't be seeing the truck until the problem is resolved.
BTW my truck was built in Kansas City on March 04

Well, I got mine back from the dealer today. They put in a new rear driveshaft and the frame dampner. It appears they got it done but I haven't really driven it that much this evening and not at higher speeds. One thing that I noted....the part number shown on the ticket for the driveshaft is 4L3Z-4R602-SA which is not the one that was posted on here earlier. Anyone know if that is another upgrade? It also appears that the Frame Dampner was a replacement item ? Couldn't find a tech that they would let me talk to or anyone that could confirm that we have one already. Anyone had this happen as yet? They did finally admit that they have a problem with the drivetrains but they aren't that loud about it. Hope this solves my vibration problem. I am tired of driving their Focus loaners.
Yo, SR89Racer.....I got the word last Thursday (8th) that it had been ordered. It supposedly came in over the weekend and they stuck it in there this morning (12th). I am just as surprised as you that it happened so quick. I saw where some folks had been on a long wait. I just hope I didn't get an old model that won't cure my problem. Reckon I'll be finding out soon !

The second driveshaft they put in my truck was 4L3Z-4R602-TB. It matches yours except for the last two letters and I don't know what they mean. The new one they ordered for me is 5L3Z-4R602-TA. The last time they special ordered a driveshaft it took a month so I am not expecting it anytime soon.

I'll be sure to let you know. I'm pretty sure what the dealer says is true. Believe it or not they are probably more picky than me when it comes to these kind of issues.
IMHO...I really believe there may be something wrong with the rear end portion of some trucks. I don't think it's a drive shaft issue. The dealer replaced the orginal drive shaft with a new one and they still felt the vibration. The rear end replacement took care of the vibration. Only time will tell as to whether or not the vibration is really fixed.

My '04 F150 Screw has the vibration. I talked to my dealer today, and mentioned there was a TSB out for the issue. The technician I spoke to was aware of the problem and isn't even messing with the driveshaft. He said he'd get parts ordered for the rear-end and my appointment is next Thursday morn. I'll let you know how it goes but I feel good about it!

Has the TSB Changed?
Last week my dealership ordered and installed a dampner...they drove it and called to say that it's still vibrating, so they ordered a rear axle assembly (it has been shipped, hopefully will arrive before this weekend). It almost sounds like Ford may be abandoning the driveshaft replacements. Anybondy know? I had assumed that warranty work involving a TSB had to follow that TSB.
BAD NEWS....I picked my FX4 Screw up this morning from the dealership. While driving it home I noticed the truck once again vibrated while going up inclines and flat roadways between 50-55 MPH. This is after the rear end was replaced and each step of the TSB was complete. Hopefully the folks from Ford is following this thread and taking good notes.
I called the dealer back this morning and told them about the situation. They want it back at the dealership ASAP.
