WHERE does it go? (engine compartment)

Hey guys.
While hunting for a diagnosis (for a slamming noise in the front wheel area after I hit a bump), we found a rubber bushing w/ internal thread simply sitting on the front cross member.
With any luck the pics I took come through.
Anyone know where this goes?

Any help greatly appreciated.

(moved to in my photo album)

Body is convex. approx. 3/4" od and 3/4" high
internal brass like thread looks like 1/4" or 3/8" thd

JUST found an image on line. this could also be called a 'RUBBER NUT'.

Can't really picture where that would go, what's right above the area that you found it?

Only place that has rubber bushing that shape and size is the upper control arms to frame mounts.
If one is missing you will have some noise.
Good luck.

I'm with bluegrass. The only thing that looks like to me is a control arm bushing.

Thanks for offering your ideas.
I also have an incredible intermittent slamming rapping sound that is speed related (faster or slower with speed).
Happens most after I hit a bump, or a particular turn.
Had the truck on a lift at the shop, couldn't find anything.
If this bushing dampens any movement of the control arm, maybe I have my answer.
Everything seems solid around the wheel and front suspension.

Look in over the top of the wheels at the control arm mount to frame.
If one is missing you should see that.
Check body mount rubber.
Check front axle assembly mounting points.

Good luck.

had any coolant work done? I wonder if its part of a vacuum coolant refiller? Looks like a straight adapter for it. Maybe?

The rubber part has a threaded brass insert, and its approx 1.5" across the top of the rubber flange part

Could it be a mount bushing for the battery try?? or something mounted to the inner fender ...or maybe the radiator
