My clear on my roof is starting to peel.. thats a big time problem. Little scratches and stuff is one thing, but clear peeling is a different ball game. Getting that fixed A.S.A.P.

I found a pair of 325/75/16's on craigslist and they are BFG AT's just like yours. The guy wants $800 for the set, and they only have like 1,900 miles on them. The little nubby things are still on the tires. I am considering buying them just because its a heck of a deal, and pushing the gears back a bit.

Well I was told that the gryphon(the one I had planned on getting) would be able to correct my speedo. I have no clue, but I was told that it would so thats what I was planning on doing.I have also heard that they have a ridiculous wait on them too. So maybe just get the edge evo.

The man to talk to would be eufhrin(I think thats how its spelled), because he and a buddy did his gears. I am pretty sure he could help you out with it, and I am sure someone did a write-up on it too(might not be on this site though).

Do it thats a sweet deal. in those channels on my roof is where my paint is cracking but on the other parts its just faded a little bit. ive got my gps hard wired and just use that to get my actual mph and its close enough. ill have to get on that too cuz im not opposed to doing it myself. sounds like fun haha.

just looked it up and those are only 35-36"s youd be out of the race practically since youd be getting a basically brand new set.

I have two spots directly in the middle of the roof where its cracking up quite a bit. Hopefully I will be able to get it fixed pretty soon here.

Haha I have no idea what my actual speed is. I know that when my speedo says 60 that I am going 67.9.. and thats about it. When I see cops shooting radar I normally just hope and pray that I am under the limit. Would be nice to know what the actual speed is, but I have gotten use to driving with traffic flow.

Haha out of the race? Since when? I am just looking for tires to get me out of having doughnuts right after I lift it. I want some toyo m/t's. 37x13.5 so I am going to have to save for the rest of my life to get them, but it will be worth it.

I know someone who is selling some 38x15.5's but he wants like 1,800 for a used set. AND those would not fit on my truck ever.

just pic up a used gps off craigslist and run an extra cigarette lighter port behind the dash and mount it like so

my tomtom is cool also cuz i was able to take a pic of the truck and use it as the arrow symbol on it.

haha yea 37"s will kill you financially haha. also once we go past 33 i dont think anything else will fit where the spare goes so train horns it will be haha. i had thought about getting a swinging tailgate like ogterror has once i go bigger and have enough for 5 tires and not 4. i hate that tires are so expensive. when i went to get the one that had the nail fixed at discount the guy asked what i wanted to do if it couldnt be repaired and i said i dont even want to think about it. id have to get 4 cuz they are worn enough that having 3 old and 1 new would make me mad and bother me too much

tuners can only fix the speedos on 99+ trucks (the ones with the digital odo.)

jake theres a guy on TTS that installs gears for 200 (cheapest price ive ever heard of) i wouldnt try to install gears by yourself, its real hard to get them lined up perfectly etc and if its not done exactly right your rear end will explode lol

what rear gearing do you have?
do you have rear discs or drums?
it might be more beneficial to you to upgrade to a 9.75 axle with 3.55 LS gears than to gear up the 8.8 that you have.

the 8.8 really doesnt like 35"+ tires

Haha I am OCD like that too. I am one of those people that keeps a rag , and a bottle of armor all with me in the truck at all times haha.

I cant stand the price of tires. I still have no idea why I paid full price for the ones I have now, but then again I cant complain because they have been good to me.

We can fit 35's where the spare goes, but once you have 37's a 35" spare will look doughnut-ish haha. Especially on a stock wheel . I looked under there today, and my spare is a wheel that is black exactly like yours. I thought it was interesting, so even when I get a blow out I still have a black wheel to slap on there haha. Too bad I have 285/75's and my spare is a 235/70 Its worse than a car tire. Thats some thing I need to work on too. I was thinking about some kinda way to lock a spare down in the bed. I havent got to that yet. Gotta get big tires first.

That totally blows! So how do you go about getting it changed? And what do I do when I have 4:56's and 37" tires, and I want my speedo to be somewhat in the right zip code?

thats what i thought about the speedo.

well i guess im gonna have to look this guy up then cuz if its that crucial i wont want to blow up my truck. haha. im not a mythbuster that gets paid to blow stuff up. hadnt really heard that about the 8.8. was a 9.75 and option on our trucks? other than the 7700 or the 97 f250 (non superduty, i knew someone that had one but i think he sold it)

idk my spare area looks pretty tight i wouldnt even think i could get a 33 in there but then again i do have a hitch that is mounted to the frame there.

there are two options ive seen. one is the swing arm tail gate like i said or one that has plates that bolt to the bed and then a carrier that bolts to that so its removable but i use my bed and wouldnt want to lose it.

we have to change out a gear that controls that and ive only heard doing it at the dealer for around 200. mines about 10 off at highway speed and i just use the gps which will be the cheapest way to do it

I had never heard that about the 8.8 either. Most of the 4x4's especially the ones with the tow packages have the 9.75's. And unless you can get lucky to find one.. you will be spending out the butt just to upgrade axles.

Oh.. Well mine is all open. I have no hitch or anything because I pull stuff with the excursion. Only thing back there is the spare basically

I think I would have to do the bolt in the bed thing.. that is if it wouldnt fit under the bed somewhere. Either that or just not carry one, and get it towed.. but that might be costly.

So they have gears that make up for gear ratio change and oversized tires?

yeah gears are pretty touchy. the guys username is GEARMAN, hes done a few members gears so far and theyve all been really happy with it.
all 4.2s came with 8.8s and some, if not all 4.6s too.
the only ones that i know have a 9.75 are the 5.4s
