Yeah man I dont know. Its looking good though. Have you gotten the whole power window/locks thing down yet? Did you consider getting power windows to hook up the XLT door panels.
Did you paint the plastic piece that goes around the back window. Mine is faded really really bad. Its almost white and I wanted to re-do it black but I am not sure how.

yea i painted the trim it made a huge difference. i painted it on the truck cuz the only way to take it off is to strip the seal off paint it and then get some new adhesive and re-attach and that sounded like it had to many areas to fail
yea fist off the locks are getting done then the windows and the bigger mirrors( non power). the door panels i was gonna get the guy backed out and decided he wanted to sell the whole truck which is retarded when he said he had other people wanting stuff and the whole front end and windshield is worthless. plus i would have been after dash pieces also.

Did you sand it at all when you did it? What kind of paint did you use(Krylon fusion)? And also did you clear it? haha sorry I have lots of questions.
yea me too. found a yard that has them but they want 75 each for the panels with switches so i may just for the time being run the kit without switches in the cab. i figure with the keyless i can lock it when i get out or manually inside or with the remote.
i didnt sand it since it didnt really have any imperfections just faded so i sprayed a couple coats of duplicolor adhesion promoter and then a couple coats of fusion.

not too bad i do kind of like it. you wanna delete the steps but other than that and the grille looking different cuz of the shades of black it could be a real possibility
Yea well I think it looks meaner with the black. Thats what I realized with my truck too.. as soon as I put those black wheels on there I began turning everything black. I have not posted stuff pics up on here in awhile, but I will soon. I kinda left that sub box thing hanging but it has been done and in the truck for awhile now. I need to catch up.
I could not find a picture that I liked with out the step bars, so I just used that one. I did a terrible job on the grille, but I am new to the whole photoshopping deal. I know guys that could lift your truck and slap some 40's on under there, but I would not be able to tell you the first thing about how to do that haha. In that picture it almost looks like your grille is PTM'd but just a little faded. I think that its kinda cool actually... unique.
If you are looking for confirmation on doing the whole black out deal, then I definitely suggest it. Black wheels did wonders for my truck, and thats just wheels. You may find that once you change a couple chrome things that the blue, black and chrome look just flows.

yea you really got me thinking with that pic its just gonna cost me probably to have the bumpers truck and light bar line-xed. i may have to get a quote but i know where to get a set of the rims i have painted black.
your right dude it looks so mean and thats kinda why i think i like it so much.
you need to get some pics up man. i had my box done and un covered for about a yr. problem is once its built you wanna play with it and then it gets put on the back burner

Well, I think you can pull it off. Im not sure how much it would cost you to pull that off with Line-x. I have never dealt with anyone that does that. When I worked at a paint an body shop we used to combine line-x with rubberized undercoating and spray it on bumpers. From what I could tell they all came out pretty rugged, and would take some effort to chip/scratch up.
Just saying but, you could get the bumpers powder coated for around 200-250. Painting that two tone to black might cost you anywhere from 150-600. There is a write-up for painting OEM wheels if you want to do it the cheap way. The grille and light bar you can paint just like you did that piece on the back window. If you want it professional then its goin to cost more obviously. I cant see you spending more than 1k on it though even if you got it all done professional. It will be an amazing change in the look though, although if you dont mind chrome you have a pretty nice truck as-is.
I cant get enough of the bass. I had no idea two little kickers would make as much bass as they do. If I turn it up at all I cant tell what kind of car is behind me because all my mirrors are shaking so bad lol.

Yea I think as it sits the chrome works real nice but I just have so many ideas that my wallet can't keep up with. Haha. If I do it I'd have it done by a pro which will cost me but I won't want to skimp out on something like that
I love my kickers. Mine do the same thing and they just sound great. Haha problem is I keep doing work and having to disconnect the battery and have to redo the setting on my radio to get the sounding their best.

Haha you sit in the same boat that alot of people sit in. I wish I had alot more money to put into the truck too. Oh well, you got to just take what you can get. I think your truck has come a long way though. Maybe you will get lucky and find a winning lottery card and then be able to do whatever you want to the truck and buy two more. Haha its probably not going to happen but I like to think that it just may... its an interesting thought.
Thats funny. I always leave the bass on zero on my head unit. I have a bass controller that wired into my dash and I just turn a little **** everytime that I want bass. So no messing with radio for me haha. I dont even bother with the pre-sets because I know by the time I finally get everything figured out that I am going to disconnect the battery again and have to re-do it.

I got the led cathodes and I used the 4" ones in the front but just got some more on the past Tuesday, one set of 12" and another 4" I'm gonna put in the back soon. They are really simple to install. They come with a transformer and it had a power and ground and all you do is wire a switch to power andground then to the transformer and ground it and your good to go. I have an extra cigarette lighter port behind the dash that I used to power the switch for now until I get a fuzeblock but the easiest place to get power is from behind the radio

for the headliner I used some dap weldwood spray adhesive first which I ordered with the material but when I ran out of that I used 3m super 80 spray adhesive and it worked just as great and possibly better when I used it to cover my box
