It would be gloss black. Everyone i talked to that likes it says I shouldnt paint the roof. Im still not convinced 100% that i want to do it.

Jerame, it will be alot harder to do the grill on the valence if I do the STX since it has the plastic columns in it

you could outline it in silver with a small black stripe like the old muscle cars used to have and leave it up about 2 inches from the back of the hood

I agree that the harely valance looks better, feel free to use some of my pics for photoshopping as I have the '03 harley truck

I think the painted roof looks good on the 04-08 body cuz the body lines just make it work, I guess cuz of the boxiness. Try to photoshop the roof black from another angle to see if you like it. And I agree a honeycomb grill for the bottom would look sweet! I think I saw a lightning with that once. Anyway, I hope everything works out for you, I know how frustrating it gets.

paint it candy paint red, get some airbags, chop your roof about 2 inches and to where it is slanted from front to back. Get some gold 13inch daytons mounted on some 315 white walls, your name on the back in old english, possibly some curb feelers, and huge monster tack and call it a day along with misc other chrome items and perhaps a virgin mary shrine. If you need more ideas go cruise the MLK. Hell or just trade it in a get a caprice big body and but some 28's on it. Personally thats what I would do in your shoes pat, its a much better ride choice for you.

In gloss black that hood and roof scheme could look pretty damn sweet. As far as the Harley valance i'm kind of partial to your STX one, it makes the truck very unique. Are you going to get your chrome bumper piece PTM?

Yep, that's the problem when you start trying to do something kind of like the HD, but different. There are no distinctive lines other than the one low on the sides. Might be best just to leave it solid.

Do you have a lawyer at all? If not, get one. You'll be amazed at how much faster and better things turn for you with the insurance company. My other truck was totaled a little over a year ago. A civic two cars behind me in the same lane didn't see everybody slowing down so he veered off the road, overcorrected back on to the road, and t-boned me bending in the passenger side door/cab. At first the guy's insurance company were dragging their feet and giving me ****, but after getting a lawyer involved, everything sped right up. They totaled the truck, and I ended up getting $8600 for it, way more than I thought I would. I'm glad to hear you and the GF are alright and I hope everything works out in your favor man.

edit: here's what my truck looked like after it was hit to give a reference of damages/what I got for it (passenger door + the bottom of the cab were bent in):
