wow that really blows! but the important thing is you and your girl are ok. I feel for you man, but atleast your getting it fixed. When me and my girl got hit the girl that hit me didnt have insurance and I had to fix my own truck. It happened back in october and I'm still not driving my truck yet! I'm glad you both are ok!

Sorry to see your accident Pat. Glad you're OK. You didn't mention it , so I guess the airbags didn't deploy. Thats a good thing.
Just cut the 3.5 to 4 inches off the frame, and get a plain steel bumper from a 96 or similar model. You just need to trim the back of it. If you set it up like mine, you'll probably have to go with an aftermarket valance.

Edit: Just a personal preference, I would leave the badges of and weld the holes up.

Pat I am glad you and your GF are fine and no one got hurt. That really sucks about your truck though at least its fixable and you can add some more little touches to make it better in the process.

Bummer dude. Glad you all are OK. My biggest fear has been a front end collision in our generation F-150. Those crash test photos don't look good.

Latest news i have on the truck situation isn't good

sounds like she (the van driver) canceled her insurance policy Jan 4th, but still carried the card as if it was current. I thought Texas was supposed to be using a new electronic data base that prevents things like this, and catches uninsured motorists. There is a chance that she has a new policy that we can hit her on, but i doubt it.

I have UIM coverage, unfortunately it will be at my expense of my deductible tho. We are gonna go ahead and push through with the UIM claim, and if she magically pulls insurance out of her *** then we will get our claim dismissed, and everything transfered over. The truck hasnt moved or been looked at today. We officially have a claim number now, so tomorrow we should be having an adjuster look at it in the wrecker's yard, then it should be towed to Ford for repair.

Well, at least get your deductible from her. Either kindly over the phone (lol) or the most likely route - in small claims. You'll win in small claims. I'm not sure how it works in your state, but in this one, she would be ordered to pay all your out of pocket expense resulting from/ You just provide documentation of/ She has already broken the law, so I don't know if they will give her much time to pay (maybe 30 days). - No pay ? Then she's in contempt and has to show cause. It gets worse on her at this point. If she doesn't have it, a family member might. Something usually happens here. - If there's any possible way she can get it, you'll get paid.

Good luck Patrick.

Damn, I hope you both are OK, considering that looks pretty horrible! Blows she doesn't have insurance, idk what driver wouldn't consider it, isn't it a violation to drive w.o a insurance.... Anyways hope you get your truck fixed in no time..

Jbrew, in texas when i claim uninsured motorist claim under my insurance, i pay my deductible and then my insurance will sue her for the damages. If she pays half of it, or only a tiny bit, the first money we get back from her goes back into my pocket to repay my deductible. Then whatever is left over the insuranace gets. If she pays nothing then i have out of pocket cost of my deductible and i just have to eat it.

I priced out some parts last night, and just the L headlight and corner on the R side, my harley davidson fog light, and my valence was $1400 retail cost. And counting that 1400 bucks, with what i know was damaged total is over $4000 in parts alone, not counting paint or labor. So rough estiment i should be 7-8k in damages.

Yeah Pat I figured it would be a high amount. That hit damaged a lot of parts. Glad you and your truck are on the road to recovery.
