Ok Les Schwab fans, which tire...

is everyone buying? Want something in 6 ply somewhat aggressive, but quiet, as I do mainly highway. Also have a friend that drives a '98 Pathfinder that needs some tires, so which ones would be best on that little rig? Again, somewhat of a more aggressive tread, but quiet and good mileage for highway.

Thumbs up

I’ve got the Wild Country APT’s. I really like ‘em. Got over 30k on them and they still look like new. They handle great and do really well in the wet. Not been in mud with ‘em, but did alright in the snow.

The new Open Country series looks pretty good too.

Cool

Howdy from Oreeegone. My next tire will be the TXR in LT265, D rated. A buddy had them on a Chebby 2500 and they went about 45k...not bad for a fairly aggresive tire. He just got a brand new set. I had them on my old 78 Bronco and I didn't think they were too noisy. But, those APT's are a great all around tire as well.

How about the tire placed right between those two!

The RVT is a great tire! More aggresive than the APT and less than the TXR. Very nice looking tire that drives great and give super off road traction.

I have 315/75-16 RVT's on my Expy, and they are super. Had 285/75-16 APT's on it before and they were nice too.

Every truck owner that works at the local Schwab also run and swear by the TXR's and siping them. They say they work great for our 8 months of winter and decently quiet on the highway.

Question

Howdy North West dudes,

I noticed you all talking about Les Schwab. I use to live up that way a long time ago. I am very familiar with Schwab.

My question to you guys is, out of the APT, RVT, & TXR which of them do really well in the white stuff? I am on my way to Anchorage Alaska to reside and I want a good tire for the snow, but also for everyday use. I have been on a tire dilema for quite sometime now.

Just curious what you all have experienced since you all get good amounts of snow up there. Thanks.

The SXT's work great for me, but all the Schwab guys swear by TXR's. Whatever I get next, I will definately sipe them.
