Cooper Zeon LTZ vs. M/T ATZ

I am moving to Tennessee in the next few weeks. I am going to get a fresh set of tires before i move...

I currently am running cooper zeon 305/50/20's.

After putting on my Monroe quick struts my tires look tiny.

I have put about 30k miles on my coopers. They still have 10k miles in them. Would have got much more but worn out parts in the front end have wore the tires pretty rough.

It seems like a toss up. I can get the ATZ's for 1671 to my door. The Zeons i can get for 1410.

I think the ATZ's look 100x better. But the coopers have been flawless... and are cheaper.

Any input?

Thanks.

i would consider which one is better in the snow since tennessee has some pretty rough winters with both ice and snow covered roads. i have ATZ's on my truck and love them but, i live in FL and we have no snow here

The Coopers definately aren't great in the snow/ice. They just skate right on top!

ALVA,

I live in florida too.

I have never had this truck in snow, However, Mud, water, etc... the coopers do great.

I am just looking to go up to the 33" over the 32".

I have the Zeon LTZ's in 275/70/18. I don't think they're that bad in the snow. Last winter here in Pa. I drove in some nasty conditions and the tires did just fine. The price was right and so far they seem to be wearing pretty well ( 7,000 miles). If you're going for looks, yeah the ATZ's got one up on the Cooper's. But so far I'm happy with my Zeon LTZ's.

Same here. I'm running the 305-40-22's up here in Canada and had no trouble during last years winter.

I have the LTZ's and I am very pleased with them. I live right on the MS/TN state line and have had no problems with the limited amount of snow we get each year. The Coopers are great tires but I have always thought the ATZ's look awesome and they will probably be my next set. If the price difference is only a couple hundred I would get the ATZ. Have the coopers gone up in price, I got my set for about half that?

Yes they have...

I got the coopers in a 305/50/20 for 160 a trie a year ago. Now they are 220 a tire. The 305/55/20s are always more expensive.

However, after doing monroe quickstruts.... my tires look tiny. So i am going to go up to the 55's.

I would like to have a tire last 50k miles. I could get prob get that out of my coopers... but it would not be safe in the snow. at all...
