Will this rim/tire combo fit???

I've finally gotten around to replacing the tires on my truck and i figured that since im going to be spending money maybe a new set of rims is in order. Specifically the 18" xd chrome monsters with some nitto trail grapplers. The specs are listed below...

Front and Rear

Size: 18x9
Offset: 35mm
Backspacing: 6.37"
Bolt Pattern: 6-135
Rec. Tire Size: 275/65-18
Weight: 28.4lbs.
Finish: Chrome Plated
Construction: 1 Pc.
Finish Warranty:
Manufactured in China

I was thinking that the tires could be 285/65/18.

Basically my question is will this set up work without any issues?
Im also open to any other thoughts about this set up or suggestions about alternative set ups.
Thanks for the help!

Since u are leveled 4wd I would go with at least the 285s. They may still look small. U could go bigger. I have equivalent on my truck if u need a reference. Will more than likely be going bigger tires next time.

I was also thinking the 295/70/18 might look good. Im just not wanting to have any problems that would make me regret my purchase.....so the 285's with those rims will work on my truck with no problem?

Well do u tow a lot? With the 295/70/18 (34.5 inch tire) it will effectively higher your gear ratio and lower your mpg a little. They would look great indeed, but negatively affect towing. The 285/65/18 will have no issues at all. If u want a little wider tire, they make a 305/65/18 that equates to 33.6x12 that would be a happy medium. Here's a good tire conversion site.

They have that 305 size on discounttiredirect.com

Awesome man thank you. This is the first set of rims and tires ive bought and i just want to make sure that there will be no problems. It sounds to me like the rims will fit fine and the only thing to really decide on is the tires. Correct?

Yep. Would agree with u on that. My 17s tuck in like those would on yours and I like it. Not a fan of tires that stick out a lot more than stock. Those will tuck nicely. Guess I should say that the 305 tire I was referring to isn't made in the trail graps, but other manufacturers do.

Ive been doing a bit of research and ive noticed that there arent any people i can find running a wheel with 6.37" bs and 35mm offset. Is there a reason for this? Ive seen lots of people with the 18x9 monsters running 5.71" bs and 12mm offset. Is the set up i have going to look off or is there nothing to worry about???

Wheel sizes

Has anyone used 22x9.5 in. wheels with a 2.5 in level kit on a 2010 FX4? If so do you have any pics? I'm not sure what size tires I should use. Thanks.

Pm Wandell, he will know. The second wheel size u reference will stick tuck quite a bit. I would say that it may work better as it will keep u slightly more away from the control arms.

I think both sizes will fit fine with that wheel. The 295's would probably be really close to the control arms at full steering lock because of their height.

I did and after playing arund a bit more on tireracks website i discovered a drop down box that had 2 more choices with different offsets and backspacing. I'm now thinking that the 18mm offset 5.7" bs is a good choice. Most people here seem to be running that set up with little to no problems. Any thoughts as to how the chrome monsters are going to look on my ole girl?

Yes, I think that would be a better choice personally. Once again, te 295's would probably be tight, but it would be on the outside. You may have to do a little trimming of some plastic.
Also, chrome Monsters look great. You just see more black Monsters.

Awesome thank you! Im thinking the 18x9's wrapped in 285/65/18 trail grapplers. I think ill keep with the smaller size just so there are no issuse. Im not a big fan of trimming plastic. Both of yall have been of tremendous help.

305/45/22 or I believe some are running 285/60/22. Believe bfg makes a tire in the second size. U wanting the biggest that will fit or closer to a 33?
