Am I The Only One Who Doesn't Care For Black Wheels?

I just can't see why this is so popular. Maybe on a black truck, but on a lighter colored rig they just look wrong. I know different strokes... But they remind me of someone too lazy to wash their wheels and brake dust has taken over.

That person may be me. On my old 2wd gmc I had 22s that were chrome and I left them on year round. The winters were pretty hard on them and they required a lot of upkeep. I also was tired of the chrome after having chrome wheels for 10 years straight on different rigs. So yeah I wanted a little less maintenance wheel and also a different look. I'm not saying I won't ever go back, but this time was looking for something different.

I agree, ESPECIALLY rockstars! Overplayed to the ninth degree, some people need to buy some taste. Wait you can't buy taste.

Add me to the list.

Polished/chrome/machined wheels with black accents usually look good. IMO, plain black wheels look like they're always dirty and make the tires look even dirtier. Also reminds me of when someone has a flat and has to run the spare.

I don't see why people spend all that money on aftermarket black wheels, when most of the time you can't even see the details. Might as well get the cheapest set of wheels you can find and paint them black, because nobody will know the difference until they're 2ft away and sunlight is directly on them.

That said, there are a lot of aftermarket wheels out there that look like crap to me, regardless of color/finish.

Smokewagun, how much did you pay for those graphics you had put on your truck? Some may find those just as hideous as black wheels, but like was said earlier to each his own. Or do they make it faster?

No I Dont own solid black wheels but I do think some trucks look nice with them and some not so nice. Just a matter of taste and opinions but I believe your in the minority on this one my friend

I seen a bagged crew cab Silverado (GMT800) the other day that was white and had white powder coated Rockstars. It looked pretty friggin sweet.

figured i through my 2 cents in. Liking or not liking black wheels is way to subjective to post a thread on. The same could be said for chrome.

For the record, Smokegun that decal is horrendous, that stuff belongs on the 85 civic thats lowered to the ground with the abnoxious muffler.

I don't care for all black wheels either, but I'm not fond of the all chrome look either. I'll stick with my brushed alloy. So they're original wheels, they're in good shape and I didn't have to pay extra for them. Of course I don't care for lowered anything, so I'm probably in the minority there too.
