what tire pressure for a 265/70/17?

what tire pressure for a 265/70/17?

i want even wear as much as possible (and yes i do rotate) with the best traction i can get out of. please provide input.

I've always had good luck with 40 psi in truck tires.

What is the load range and and max psi of the tire. That size comes in P series to LR E. Size is not enough info.

i run 40 psi in my 265/75/16

Don't put 40 in if that is a p series standard load tire. That would be about 5 psi over max for the tire.

It says the max tire pressure on the tire. Don't go over that, and keep all four tires the same.

That is a P series extra load. 38-40 should be okay with that tire. Just keep an eye out for abnormal wear and adjust accordingly. You probably won't need to go any higher, but may be a bit lower, although I wouldn't go any lower than 35-36.
