Brand New Rims Gouged

Title says it all...had an alignment completed on Saturday morning after getting the wheels/tires mounted Thursday night. 3 day old wheels gouged by utter carelessness of the alignment tech. This place sells expensive wheels too...

Taking her in tomorrow to see how they will handle my request of ordering me 4 new wheels.

Insist......metion the BBB

When we sell high end wheels with no wheel weight lip on the outside, we align. it before installing the new wheels to prevent such an error.

I installed my 2.5" Autospring and had the truck aligned with the stock wheels...for peace of mind. The guy at the tire shop said "you'll need to get it aligned again with the new wheels"...the guy next to him looked at him like he was crazy, then told me "no you won't". What an idiot!

I needed an alignment after the daystar was installed and after going to bigger tires (that happened to be mounted on aftermarket wheels). Since I had both installed within a week, I only did this once.

If I would have done these say months apart, I would have had an alignment twice then.

To your post; if you had bigger wheels/tires installed after your stocks were aligned (after the lift)...you should have had another alignment completed.

New rims on our truck again....after the initial shock that took place when I informed them of the damage, the wife stated they apologized many more times today after replacing our wheels due to their negligence.

I feel better now.

Hey trip,
Those are some nice wheels, I can see why you would be upset to see them get damaged. If I may ask, about how much did they run you? I haven't really seen them before and my truck is the wedgewood blue (blue with a smokey tint) so I'm thinking those might be the ones.

Actually, these were a lot cheaper than what we had on our last car...I was upset that they were only two days old when damaged, semi-irregardless of what they cost.

Link to wheels at discount:

Or here for other sizes:
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...BMGU6&tp=Truck

That is the price from discount tire direct...your local store (presumably, as ours did) can beat that price by twenty bucks or so.

I've seen some others here with the same wheel in chrome, and another user with an Expedition has the Gunner 5, same wheel but bigger spokes due to having 5 lugs.

Regards,

Good choice on the wheels. Great match for your truck.

I was wondering this morning that when i get my lift and tires do i need to align with stock rims or my new ones.

I guess from reading this, I need to allign with the aftermaeket wheels. Hopefully i am understanding what you are saying.

Tell me if not,

You would need to re-align in either situation, in order to prolong the life of your tires. If you plan to run the stock for a couple weeks before putting on the new ones and don't care about them, then I guess it doesn't matter. Direct your question to wandell, he'll be able to clear up any other tire/rim questions you might have. He's kind of the forum expert.
