I just have a few questions about this swap that i haven't been able to find answers to in other threads. I have a 1995 F150 with the 5.0(obviously) with the 4R70W transmission. I know about the flex plate, and what to get, i know the bell housing will match up, i know all the simple stuff. But what i want to know, is what engine do i get? Like what years will work with the harness and computer i have now? I know others who have done this swap and used the 5.0 harness and computer, so i know it can be done. The sticker under the hood says the firing order of the truck is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. From what i know, most or even all 351s use the same firing order. So wouldn't any 351 work, or does it have to be mass air(94-95, i think), and if so, why? Also, any hints would be nice. Thanks!

 

92-96 5.8's would work. should be just a drop in if you use the wiring harness from teh 5.8.

 

Also, Would a 94-96 SVT 5.8 engine work?

 

How hard is it to switch a wiring harness? I wanted to try and use the harness from my truck, but if i have to, i will get a harness.

 

WHERE ARE YOU GETTING THAT SVT 5.8?! you can use your wiring as well.

 

Craigslist! So, from what i have read in the past few minutes, with the 95' harness and computer i have now, i DONT need the computer from the donor truck, the 302s computer will work fine, same with harness. So, only question i have is, what year(s) of 5.8 can i use? Any year? or 94-96?

 

yes i think they did a wiring change in 95, so you will need a 95+ 5.8. I think.

 

Is this 100%? How would i be able to check this?
