I use my truck to haul TVs just about every work day.
On the weekend I'm getting free firewood off the side of the road.
I'm not even afraid to pull up a few tree stumps here and there with it either.
I have plenty of scratches and dents inside the bed and I've only had it a little over 3 months.

Hell I'm getting tired of this. Once I think this thing is over someone else comes in and takes a direct slam into my area. I have hauled many things such as plywood, furniture, dirt and much more in what you, eddie threat, call insane. I have stuck up for you and the older models and this is the thanks that you can think of . If this is the way the board is going I'm out of here.

Bye the way here is a pic of my insane truck Take aim if ya can keep up

You know something....these new trucks look good when they are new. I for one think they look great. My truck looks better now than it did when it was new. I wash that baby once a week, wax it once a month, and treat it like I would anything else that I want to have around for a long time. Everywhere I go I get comments on it and it turns heads everywhere. But guess what, I use that truck to do every kind of work I need it to do. That ranges from loads of dirt for my landscaping jobs to hauling things from place to place. If you were to see the truck when i'm not using it to work you would think that I'm one of "these" people. My point here is that I for one am very proud of my truck and the work and money I put into it, I have a feeling many others are like this too. Regardless of what these trucks look like, they are and will be work trucks. So if I want a work truck, I have to go out and buy and old rusted beat up truck to do work? I don't think so. I realize that you're proud of your 85, they are great trucks...but be a little open minded to consider that the 97 that's sitting next to you at the red light came from money saved up over many years. Yeah it looks pretty, but it's just as worthy of work as yours is. I agree that the point of trucks is to be workers, but can't an owner take a little pride in their purchase? Nice lookin truck there mumbly!

Mike

BUT JUST BECAUSE WE USE THEM AS A TRUCK DONT MEAN WE HAVE TO HAVE A SCRATCH DOWN THE SIDE OR DENTS IN THE BED....THEY ARE TRUCKS !! I LIKE PROBABLY MOST OTHERS NEED A TRUCK BECAUSE THEY ARE HOME OWNERS AND I DONT KOW HOW PEOPLE GET ALONG WITHOUT ONE..ACCEPT WHEN THEY BORROW MINE...BUT ITS A TOOL AND SOME OF USE CANT PASS UP THE TEMPTATION TO ALTER THEM TO OUR WANTS AND NEEDS....

Ok, I'm a little shocked at what Eddie said. Ok, I really don't understand what your problem is. People use there trucks for all kind of reasons, some people tear em up cause they use them so much and others keep em nice and neat and show them off Like Mumblys beautiful truck. Take me for example, I have never really hauled anything in my truck before, don't even need a truck, but I got one. Now because I don't tear up my truck and use it like "a real man should", does that make me a bad guy. Well I sure hope not. I just like to take good care of it, keep it looking nice, I kinda like to show it off too, cause it's fun. And I know that I'm not alone on this. Oh well, I don't really care what Eddie says, but one thing, ram me, I double dare you.

sorry to disappoint you eddie. had my truck for 2 months now. bought it looking great. now after hauling dirtbikes, kayaks, fishing and camping equipment, and soon to be hunting equipment the bed has quite a few good scratches.
do i like the way it looks on the outside, you bet. do i take care of it, you bet. do i use it as a truck, every chance i get.
as far as ramming, just make sure you have good insurance then i can get a new truck to use as a truck.

Cool

Boy has this thread gotten interesting
Mumbly: as always, a gorgeous truck, something I bet a few members here would like to have their trucks looking like
Red Ryder: point taken but I still like reading about the older trucks and sometimes they really do need to post in the newer sections to get the most informative posts.
DU302: I agree 100%
Mudder: really liked your comment about using a truck "like a real man should"

I think I heard a new topic here "What do you use your truck for?" I look forward to seeing someone post that in the General Discussion area (hint hint)
