seems to me that about 90% of us at one time or another have had an older vehicle. i myself enjoy driving old ones just as much as new. maybe they would like to see what to expect with the new models when they purchase one.
and don't think just because their truck is older that means they don't have any new ideas or even old secrets that might help us with these new trucks.
hang in there guys. maybe even post some pics. old fords definitely look tough

Smill-I'm sorry to see you can't carry on an intelligent dialogue without resorting to profanity. You know the old saying, "opinons are like a__ssholes, everybody has one".

With over 2000 members on this board only 2 people have decided it was their duty to regulate who can post messages on this site. In my book that qualifies you as a dumbass. If Steve did not want people with older trucks posting he would let everyone know. It is not your place to moderate the message board.

Smill-If you want to play in the gutter, go play with yourself. Who said I was trying to moderate this website? Can't anyone have an opinion different then your own without you having to resort to name calling? Are you that intolerent of other people and their ideas and opinions that you have to attack them on a personal basis?

Having said this, good night to all and to all a good night. I respect the various opinions that have been presented here, and have enjoyed the (mostly) intelligent dialogue with fellow F-150 owners, (both old and new).

Need I remind you about your first post? Seems to me that you just contradicted yourself more than once. RedRyder and FrankP started out saying this site is for 97 and newer models ONLY. Now, RedRyder has changed his tune. You said you were trying to moderate this website by trying to tell us who can and cant post and you are the intolerant one for not wanting to hear about what the people with older trucks have to say.

>RedRyder wrote
>Sorry Fast46, but I agree with FrankP. This >website is for the new models, not the old >pre 97's. It says so right on the home >page. I find it aggravating to have to look >through posts that have absolutely nothing >to do with our trucks.
>The older trucks are great, and form part >of the Ford truck heritage, but they're >just not what this website is all about. >There are websites for the older models.

Cool

FrankP: I would say that there are a lot of valuable experiences from people who do not have a '97 or newer F-150 that we could all learn from. Sure, some of the posts do not pertain to me but I just skip over them.

SMILL: Please notice that you were the first one to make a personal attack. Until then, people were simply expressing there opinions. We should all be able to do this without stooping to personal attacks.

I agree with everything else you said. Unfortunatley, after someone sees a personal attack written they see nothing else. You have good IDEAS - share 'em. Leave the personal atacks for another time.

Question

What's the big deal? The folks with older trucks contribute just as much if not MORE than many others with '97 or newer trucks.

Their experiences with trucks, vehicles, and dealers gives all of us valuable insight. Well, maybe not all of us, as is clearly the case with a couple of you.

Bottom line? If my opinion counts for anything... You don't have to own a late model F-150 to participate here.

Heck, we've even had Chevy owners participate who contributed a ton of information that was useful to a whole lot of people. Of course, Dano was the notable exception.

PKRWUD, I sure hope you don't let a couple of people in the minority speak for the rest of us. I think you can clearly see how much we value your participation here.

'nuff said.

Gee so if I bought a Truck back in say '96 with a five year loan, even thought it's not paid off yet, I can't post anymore? I thought this Site had better longivity than the warrentys that come with the Trucks!

The sole purpose of this message board is to provide and receive information regarding our trucks. Us guys and girls are either looking to help one another or we are looking for information hoping that someone else is willing to help us out. This has absolutely nothing to do with what year truck a person drives! We are all proud owners of ford F-150's who like to share stories and take the occasional moment to brag. There is no reason what so ever that people who are not as "high society" as you guys think you are, cannot be part of this very informative and beneficial message board. If you don't like it, leave. I've been a part of this board since january of last year and I have yet to find one aspect of it that is remotely negative. These people are the ones who tend to help the most. We should be looking up to them, they're the ones with the experience and knowledge of ford trucks and equipment that will help us. You guys should find some time to enjoy this board instead of criticizing people who are just as loyal and interested in ford trucks as you are. GET A LIFE! To you pre 97 people...hang around, we need ya!

Mike

RedRyder - FrankP What happens when the new body styles come out? Is Steve suppose to kick everyone out because there trucks won't be 2002 and up, or whatever year Ford comes out with a new body style. I happen to have a 4.2 - you know one of those engines with pushrods, kind of like the good old 302 and 351. I think having the older stuff around is a bonus. I also think there should be a pushrod engine section - Steve. What if one of these older truck owners plans on getting a new truck in 8 months is that person not suppose to post, just sit around and watch until he gets a late model truck?

I fail to see where the older trucks have cluttered up the posts. Almost all here have been very welcoming to anyone participating in this site. Until the day I see a post from Steve that says that we aren't welcome, I'm gonna participate. Until that day comes, guys like Red and Frank are gonna have to live with me. So grow up boys, I'm not going anywhere!

LOL Raoul

You pretty much summed it up with your statement.

Go get 'em Chris.

I think I am gonna sell my truck and participate here anyway. That will surely **** somebody off. Right?

"Naaa maaaannnn, you can't be here dude cuz you aint' got no truck and if you did have a truck it would have to be 97 or newer, maaaannnnn!"

Come on RedRyder and Frank, would you not have something contribute if you did not have 97 and newer trucks? Did it ever occur ot you guys that folks with older trucks may want to learn a thing or two before upgrading to a newer model? Or maybe they are here just to BS like the rest of us? If so, none of them I recall have started such a lackluster topic as this one and for that I applaud them!
