Looks like the members are for having truck owners of any year on the page. Heck even if they don't have a truck.

Hey FrankP Maybe you should save some grace and close this before you lose your privilege to be on the Board.

As for RedRyder I can understand that you have an opinion on this point, but I hope you can see that a lot of us believe otherwise. Hope you can deal with the fact that everyone is here to stay, old models and new.

Thumbs up

To quote Rodney King "Can't we all just get along?"

Even though the '97's and newer are almost totally different trucks, the owners for earlier models can still provide great insite on their experiences with the Ford product.

So to all pre '97's you are still welcome at my party!!

Keep on Truckin'!!!!!

Oh ya, bought a new Expedition last night. But still have my '99 4X so you can't kick me off the site!!! lol!!

I was in the Photo Gallery looking around and I noticed the WebMaster's F150 is an early '97 model. So early in fact, I believe it was built in '96.

I'm sorry Steve but, YOU GOT TO GO !

Notice how I've been conspicuously absent from all this - had no idea what it would start.

However, from the very first response - There are plenty of Pre-97 discussions going on here. And I'm not saying you don't belong here, on the contrary.

But why not use the "PRE-97" category up at top level for these discussions.

Those of you who think I was rude to bring this up, I feel, are likewise for bringing up non-late model topics in the late model topics categories.

f150online has is a wonderful place - for all of us.

Just follows the rules and post topics in the appropriate place. Its as simple as that.

FrankP, No offense but you said "Just follow the rules and post topics in the appropriate place. Its as simple as that." Did you happen to notice what "place" you started this topic?

Question

Not to beat a dead horse, but FrankP this is the Engine Thread. Doesn't that mean just talk about engines of any type or year. And as far as staying in the confines of a topic. Sometimes ya have to move to a different one just to get an answer. I for one don't mind but I can see where it can get out of hand. Is this what you mean???

RedRyder and FrankP,

Like mumbly said, the engine forums doesnt say 97-up engines only, stay out older models! It says Engines. If people have problems with their ford, we'll be glad to help. I dont see why you care about any older models appearing here. If you dont want to reply, dont. If its a topic about older models, dont even open it if you are that neurotic. The memebers with older models, are also help to us. Who knows, if someone has a question, and maybe only that members knows the answer. They could be the same way as you, and not help out. We are a team here, old model or new.

Kind of a love/hate thing isn't it?
I've owned Fords and lots of other brand vehicles since the early 1950's. Wish the internet had existed then, would have saved me a lot of time and mistakes.
My take is we do have not only room for pre '97 F150's, but also some threads for several other variants like F250's and so on.
I also own two high perfomance Chevrolets and a Lincoln Continental, but I am by far most comfortable on this particular site.
I also own two l956 F100 trucks, and I was going to try to work a deal with Twisted99 to see if I could buy his wrecked 99.5 Lightning so I could transplant the entire power train into the better of the two.
If that meant I could not participate on this site equally as much as my ownership of a 99.5 Ford allows me to do, I would be kind of disappointed.
I know nothing about setting up web sites such as this, but perhaps Steve could set up categories and sub categories that would allow a certain amount of discretion between model years or families of trucks/ engines with the same topic choices.
If you are a 5.0 person, you have the same menu as a 5.4 owner. Or, a 4.0 inline menu and a 4.2 menu.
Don't know if that helps, but I sure hope we can keep this site sane and growing as I enjoy it more than just about anything else I do in my personally very spare free time.

Keep it all exactly like it is. These 2 guys are obviously not realizing the relationship that the rest of us hold. This board's success in providing information for everyone would be limited if it were divided up. Like the guys were saying, we're all a team here...why the hell should almost 2900 of us change for 2 guys who don't think that this board is set up right? How is it their place to determine who posts what and where. START YOUR OWN MESSAGE BOARD GUYS! We like this one and we're thankful that someone takes so much of their own time to keep it up and running as well as Steve does.

I'm with Dave on this one. Keep it as it is. I've seen other lists divide and you lose something when that happens.

So since RedRyder and FrankP have taken all this space incorrectly in 'Engines' can anyone tell me where I can post my question about my 1990 302?
