f150online=LATE MODEL F150's '97 and UP!
remember?
|
Also Pre-97 pickups. I dont believe anyone here minds.
|
Sorry Fast46, but I agree with FrankP. This website is for the new models, not the old pre 97's. It says so right on the home page. I find it aggravating to have to look through posts that have absolutely nothing to do with our trucks. With all due respect to the owners of older models who will read this, I bet 95% of the people who have joined this website could care less about how some guy feels about his 1985 5.0. The older trucks are great, and form part of the Ford truck heritage, but they're just not what this website is all about. There are websites for the older models.

Well, I am sorry to have taken up your space. I will try to find one of those other boards. I will try to refrain from posting here anymore.

I have got some very informative responses from the owners of older F150s
I'm with fast46 on this one. It would be a shame to loose some good members just because they don't have a 97 or newer. Hey 54, I know there is a section for them, but the problem is nobody sticks to that section. The posts for the older trucks pop up everywhere else. It seems like you can't have a string about 4.6's or 5.4's without somebody piping in about how many miles their 2nd cousin got on their '83 model. I don't mean to sound like a snob, but the fact remains that this website is supposed to be for the newer trucks.

Hey, life doesn't start when you get a "new" F150, it just seems that way. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif I like the people with the "older" trucks that have been posting so far! What about the '95 lightnings? I think we would be missing out if their owners were left out.
|
So people don't stick to their sections huh? Kinda like posting this time-wasting topic in the "ENGINES" section.....hmmmmmm????
who cares? I wish we had some guys with antique trucks here. So there! [This message has been edited by seacrow (edited 10-07-1999).] |
I for one (owner of a 99 F150) believe that this website is for all ford truck new and old. Pkrwud don't take a few peoples opinions as the majority and leave the board. I think that I speak for many of us who enjoy fords of any year or model. Just let there opinions roll off your back like water on a freshly waxed hood

I'm with seacrow. Who cares as long as they are'nt posting about shovies. Shame on the other Frank for posting this. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif

another plus point in having the folks with the older trucks is to give us with the newer trucks some heads up insite into what we have to look forward to with our "newer" trucks. I personally like reading about what they are doing with their trucks and how the trucks are holding up https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif For my 02, I say you with the older trucks, just keep on posting!!

Tina, How can what happens to a completely different truck have any bearing on what happens to your new one? It's like comparing a '82 Mustang to a '99. Different engines, different transmissions, different everything. I think FrankP was right on the money. I can see some similarities in things like appearence products, motor oil, tires, etc. where both kinds of trucks could benefit from the same products, but what beyond that??? I'll bet that if Steve were moderating this string he'd say that the primary purpose of the website is for the newer trucks.

I'll bet that Steve would say to "share" as long as it doesn't get too far off topic. Some valued members don't even HAVE a F150!
|
I bet when Steve looks at this thread it gets locked because your a dumbass. This site is very usefull for everyone no matter what year their truck is. Just to let you know the tranny(E4OD) in 97 and 98 F150's with the 5.4l has been around since the mid 80s or before. I like hearing about the older trucks. If you don't then STOP READING their posts. Just because you don't like reading about the older trucks don't ruin what everyone else sees as a great resource.
