Changed Spark Plugs, DIRT???

I appreciate all of your help, where are you at in Michigan. My entire family is up there throughout the entire state. I left with the military about 15 years ago and miss it very much...

3Valves - I can't recall when Ford offered the 3 valve V8 for the 4.6L versions. It was right around your model year. I'd have to look that up, but the 3 valves require strange looking plugs compared to original plugs that these vehicles used before 2005.

Yea, your heads are different. They were updated late in 03 for the V8's. Torque is different, but you haven't hurt it IMO. Those heads are 8 or 9 threads.

I used the 28 ft/pounds torque, I am assuming that I am fine. I think this is getting a little to much thought. I know when I threaded the plugs back into the heads there seemed to be a lot of thread before it snugged. I can't imagine it blowing the plug out. I have never taken so much precaution with changing out a spark plug and this is the first time I have ever actually torqued them down. I had to go and buy a torque wrench as mine only went down to 50 ft/pounds...
What do you think?

IMO ......I would get a tq wrench with the right ft/lbs or use an inch/lbs one and convert......

No, I bought a new torque wrench as the one I had only went down to 50....I have one now that goes from 20 to 100 ft/pounds....

The 4.6 2v replaced the V-6 as the entry level engine, and it kept the old 4 speed tranny. Ford got it to get better EPA mileage numbers than the V-6. It was actually a very good package for a work truck.
