HELP>!! Major Misfiring.. Possible engine swap

Hello, I actually purchased my vehicle yesterday and am having major misfiring. As soon as i start up the truck it begins to have a small shake to it and when am rolling and stop. I took back to the dealer today to see what they can do. What one manager told me was its your problem the truck is yours now. I had another manager try to help me out and took it to there mechanics. He came back with the suggestion of replacing the engine. He states that it will be more cost efficient to just go ahead and change the motor and he will meet half way. Instead of taking the engine apart and start searching for the problem replacing parts. Is this the best solution???!! Tommorow I will be taking to a ford dealer early to get a full diagnostic to see what they tell me. Am stressing this alot because I just bought this vehicle.. PLEASE HELP

Depending on what state your in, the laws are a bit different here and there. But here, you legally have 30 days to return the vehicle if there are any mechanical issues. I would ask for my money back. Put your foot down, quit letting them dictate what you should do. Why is a dealer who sold you a vehicle the day before, now telling you it needs a new engine and you are stuck with it, but he will meet you half way?? I don't think so... I wouldn't have that one bit. None of it.

Take it to the Ford dealer for a diagnosis. I find it hard to believe that a 2007 needs a new engine unless this dealer you bought it from is REAL shady and knowingly sold you a pile of crap. If no warranty was offered, I'm betting that this may be the case - he got a truck with a bum engine real cheap at the auction and put it on the lot waiting for a sucker.

Yes am going to take it to a ford dealer now.. Problem with where I got it from they dont offer that 30 day period. On my contarct it says as is, manager pointed it out yesterday. So now for being an idiot am on a mission. Ive heard even if the contract states that I still get my 30 days..any truth to this?

I believe there are laws that will protect you here. Some states have a three day law some longer where a vehicle can be returned within that time frame if deemed defective. I would contact an attorney like today and find out what your rights are in your state. It would be sweet revenge to drive back to the dealer and tell him to shove it. Don't just bend over for these guys. Good luck

UPDATE:.. So after a long stressful few days I was able to retrun the vehicle. I am waiting til tommorow night to get my funds back or for them to find another vehicle that might catch my inetrest. So I am now back to truck hunting unfortunately.. although it was the biggest pita atleast I got something in return hehe. I took off the bed extender and turned in the truck without hahaha... and I had already ordered black weathertechs for the truck so hopefully I find a truck with black interior or they exchange for diffrent color once I get another truck.

Glad to see it's working out. A little prize for your troubles is never bad. I honestly wouldn't even deal with the same dealer. Wait for your funds and shop elsewhere. Good luck.
