I will get you the pn of my ECU, which off hand i know came from an f230-350 with the 4r100. Some of the 250/350s do not have pats. I found this out at the dealer when he checked to remove the PATS and it wasn't there. I think this may be part of your problem. I would avoid creating your own DLC. you can call ford for a listing of ecus without pats, and i will give you the pn of mine, but beware, there are a whole bunch of PNs out there. It took me a while looking at ebay and such until i found mine at a junkyard.

Also if anyone is going to attempt this as well, I have a bunch of extra parts laying around like intake manifolds, sensors, and stuff.
thank you I appreciate the help greatly

as far as the motor mounts, did you do the swap sides and flip upside down trick? did you have to space the left side down an 1"?

Me? i had to mess with the motor mounts a little more since i decided to run headers. I did do the flip trick. but I also put a plat under the motor mount on the passenger side frame and ended up cutting and re welding the drivers side to pull the header/ motor away from the frame a little more. I also had to notch the upper a arm bracket a little. After doing it I regret running the headers. they are WAY to big to fit in there. and ended up taking some support out of the upper control arm mount. Once i get it running I will end up going back to beef it up a little i dont exactly trust it the way it sits now. it is what it is

yea i could not see how the motor mounts flipped upside would work. i ended up putting them on were they would use all three bolts i think they are switched from side to side but i had them on so many different ways i cant remember now. then i unbolted the frame mounts and put some 1/2 plate to space them up and move them were they need to go and drill new holes to mount them. did you get yours running yet?

yeah I was pretty confused myself on how that was supposed to work. Did you have any clearance issues with the oil pan and front diff? i have about an 1/8 of an inch clearance. makes me very nervous. Its one hell of a tight friggen fit in there! i think im going to end up putting a body lift on in the spring to gain a little more clearance so i can move the motor up a little bit more. I did however have enough room to run the mechanical fan! saved a few dollars lol. still isnt running though, im still searching for the correct PCM. but hot damn am i anxious to hear this thing run. stainless steel headers and fully straight piped

i think i ended up with more like a 1/4-1/2 " of clearance oil pan to diff. but i have clearance issues with the cowl, the egr hits the cowl so i will be doing some clearancing there. otherwise i am pretty happy with engine placement looks like i have room for mechanical fan too.

headers and staight pipe on a v10 should sound like a lambo! lol

I think everything will cross over from the 5.4 to the 6.8 V10 as far as front accessories go. I know the rotating assembly is the same(except for crank and amount of things is 2 less), but no need for that since i will be boring over quite a bit. That being said, is anyone looking for a 5.4 block.

yeah its deffinatly going to have a few people scratching their heads when they hear it, but i live in a pretty small town so most people already know whats under the hood. Im also very excited to see what it performs like, ive never had anything with any guts before. The truck came with the 4.6 and was somewhat quick with the 5spd so i can only imagine what its going to be like with the 6.8

yup new computer and it fired right up. took me by suprise, i didnt think it was going to work but she runs, just got done taking her for a test drive. need to re-bleed the clutch cause it deffinatly is not right. the roads were a little snow coverd and ill tell you what it was scary driving this thing. with a touch of the pedal i was sideways. I cant wait for the roads to be dry. I really need to get some back pressure on it tho. its not exactly running right but its a mean machine

Thats how mine was. The abscense of back pressure was horrible. I'm glad the new ECC made everything run right. As far as everything crossing from the 5.4 to 6.8 it does. Just about every sensor.

I left the 5.4 exhaust pipe on from the header to just in front of the muffler. Then I went to 3 inch with a Flowmaster. Since I use the Expy for toating the family around, I like it with the resonators, and cats on it. It tones it down for road trips, but still makes a point. I am continuing on the expedition with tuning now with TWEECER so I'll let you all know how that goes, but in the mean time, My wife got me a new Christmas present. http://www.oldwillysforum.com/viewto...p=20744#p20744
