Motor swap in progress...4.6L is OUT!!!

BTW- The CHT sensor has it's own harness. It's the only sensor that does (makes it easier to reference) .
CHT Harness =
If his 5four came with the emissions (vacuum harness) it will. The 4six's are a little different. Between us all, we got him covered lol.
thank you for all the help guys! jbrew my motor looks the same with the CHT & knock sensor in the middle going to the back, thats exactly how I routed it. Yes I have the full vaccum system, we had to play with it for a bit last night as we had the 4.6 vacum setup on at first, finally realized why it didnt seem right and got it switched out and it looks good now!
was another LATE night last night / this morning but the 5.4L is in and mostly wired & partly plumbed, the trans is in with the cross member and everthing as is the full exhaust system. At this point we have to put the driveline in, finish up all wiring & plumbing, finish pulling the dash to swap dash harnesses (and the comp) and then it should be ready to fire. Everything has gone pretty smoothly so far and I owe a ton to my friends that have been helping turn the wrenches as well as you guys for all the info! I cannot wait to get this thing moving under its own power again!!!

I have a ton of pics on my phone & my buddys newer iphone (takes great pics) and once I have some extra time will create a new album and add them all up and post a link to it! If anybody needs help in the future, dont hesitate to ask - I def know a TON more about the whole truck now!
AND 4r70w to 4r100 transmission, AND 8.8LS to 9.75LS rear end too! Im uploading pics right now...heres link to my swap gallery

oh I also have to swap the part of the wiring harness that goes to the back of the truck so I will be dropping the tank tonight and installing the walbro 255lph pump tomorow (I just ordered it - (thanks to Phil6608 for the link to an awesome deal on the whole kit!)
Lots of fun work. 4x4 or no?
Never mind. Just saw the pics
That 4r100 dominates over the 4r70.. wow. never seen them side by side. How much longer is the 4r100, looks like you'll need the drive line from the donor too huh.

2wd so that makes it MUCH easier...I dont think I would attempt a 4x4 setup...it would be like double the work...yes I have the driveshaft as well.
heres what will be the fun part:

I picked up a new (mock-up only) kit for CHEAP (relatively of course)...once the drivetrain is in and solid that is when the truck will really change!

Looks good man. I'm gonna have to get a ride in that thing when I get back. See how the difference is. Can't wait to start building my 5.4 when I get back. Get that and my ZF6 in my truck!!! But looks like its going pretty smooth for you!! Good to hear man.
oh hell ya! Im planning on beating on it at pismo! I think we should consider bumping up the trip a week or two because HUCKFEST will be going on out there like a week sooner than we have planned and there will be guys going big! by the time you get back the truck should be a whole different beast!
unfortuneately I have a physics test tomorrow and need to study and catch up on sleep but will go back at it hard tomorrow after school & work. While I am dropping the tank to swap the wiring / fuel pump / fuel filter is there anything else you guys would address that Im forgetting about?

idk the guy Im buying it from said it cycled 17.5" (which is about what all the 97-03 kits pull) but Im sure that was metal to metal, so we will see where it ends up when it actually goes on the truck...I am guessing I will strap it at about 16ish inches but well see.
the dirt tech kit is nice and one of my favs and it will pull close to 20" with 12" stroke shocks, no ac system, no factory brake booster, notching the frame, etc...you can get that out of any of the kits, but you have to give up those items and you get a lot of bumpsteer and nasty angles on heims and uniballs in stuff. My buddy has a full kill camburg linked a-arm ranger race truck with 16" travel in front and trust me we have gone through much rougher nastier stuff at race speeds than my truck will see for a long time...total travel numbers mean less than you think. 16" (with the shocks tuned well) will be more than enough for a while and it will be much easier on the whole front end...keep in mind the raptors are only like 12" of travel!
once I can afford 3" bypasses along with the coilovers & bumps you would be shocked what the truck will take!
