This one wasn't nearly as funny as the one where the guy got his oil extraction pump stuck in the pan. I almost died laughing reading the comments to that one.

I guess it would be a little easier on a stand, - just seems a extreme. Hell, you might as well pull the head at that point.
Did they say exactly where they found it ?
Rest assured, - it may have easily cost you allot more ignoring it.

I wonder if the OP actually saw the engine out of the truck. Not saying they didn't actually do the work they charged him for, but sad to say, in the years I spent in automotive work I saw way to many times that people were charged for work that NEVER HAPPENED, because it didn't NEED to happen. That always greatly upset me, as thievery always does. I'm still betting I could have gotten it out without pulling anything. I always liked a challenge, and there's definitely more than one way to skin a cat (or in this case remove a magnet).

Hard to charge $700. unless you do a bunch of work. That's called maximizing profit! What don't you understand about that Brew???

Well, I'm sure everyone has been in that position at least once.
Anyywayyy.... - They most likely just removed the head.
There's a few ways I may have tried as well. One would be closing the valves, locking the crank then blasting with air. Yehaw!
