So....Don't do it.

Yeah, don't put 5W-30 in your 330. I had horrible engine shaking/idleing for 2 1/2 months. Just recently changed my oil and put the 5W-20 back in(what Ford recommends) and it ceased pretty quickly. Thought I had a bigger problem, but thank god I didn't.
You have been fore warned.

As for yer Volant/BullyDogPoop programmer combo - just.... don't.
Are you aware of the lean tendencies of yer MY truck (5.4L 3V)? Are you also aware that a canned BullyDogPooPoo programmer was never designed for nor can compensate for, an aftermarket CAI - which will exacerbate the already pre-existing lean tendencies in the point above?
And - do you realize that Volant is crap? Examples:

This is why product research prior to purchase is so important.
I'd have yer A/F's checked if I were you......
"You have been forewarned"

Good luck.

I'm not sure I like your tone.
I do however like how you quoted the only post on a thread I started.
I haven't had any problems with my programmer or my intake. I guess your trying to say it's a hit or miss.....well, I guess I hit.
When and if my truck catches on fire, and the fire marshall tells me that my programmer created a spark and sent it to my intake which caught on fire and set the rest of my engine compartment on fire I'll believe you that one by itself or a combo of the two is "crap". But until that day.....I've got not problems with either.
By the way, this thread is not about my mods. And you can't forewarn someone about something they have already bought.

Well, okay - if it worked for you. (I wonder if you have an underlying cam phaser issue)...

JakeKo, He really is warning you of a future problem
Yes, MGD was just trying to make you aware of a known problem. You can be running lean, doing damage to your engine and not know it. It is a very common problem with 04s and 05s with canned tunes and an aftermarket intake.

Might you mean LOW viscosity?
read all the posts concerning the volant intake that mgd pointed out to you to see hown some things are similar to what you are experiencing and that it may not be related to your oil of choice at the time.
No, it is the housing not the filter that causes the problem on the new trucks. The MAF is "calibrated" to the volume of the intake. Changing the volume affects the calibration. The 97-03 MAF had its own volume so the intake tube did not affect it.
