1 fan is on a thermo, the other operates completely by the switch. Rather than letting the first fan cycle on and off with the thermo you can just manually flip it on. You really only need to flip the switches if you have the A/C on or are in traffic. For any normal driving the fan on the thermo is enough, when the truck gets going 40 mph the fans should be off anyways

You could wire the second fan into a relay so that when you click on the a/c the fan comes on, or did i miss it that you have it wired that way already?

you can do it that way but you dont need the fan on the highway, and can actually damage the fan trying to run on highway speeds.

Jeeze, we need a Florida version of patrick! I want e-fans so bad. Mainly for the accel improvement, secondly for the MPG, thirdly for the A/C. Sounds too good to be true. Has any V6's done this? Winder what kind of mpg numbers they're throwing out now..

pat,
im thinking about doing some over christmas along with underdrive pulleys. i have a few questions for you since you seem to understand this really well.
1)so do the fans not automatically turn on? i would definently forget to turn them on or off.
2)install wise, how hard? dads an electrical engineer so he would probly wire most or watch everything i do.

The Troyer kit comes with switches that have temperature probes. You just have to set them to turn on at the temp that you want.

one of them comes on, on its own, and you could theroetically rig it up to where they both come on automatically, but i havent toyed with that yet

You could put a cutout on the switch to manually override it while cruising on the interstate

That is essentially the same thing as turning the fan off with a manual switch in the first place......

I might tinker with the full auto controls, but for now its no big deal to flick two switches on :o
